Why does missing a month mean anything if his WAR, and numbers other than some of the counting stats, HRs/RBIs specifically, are all better than Alonso (avg/obp/slg are all better)?  If anything, that should work in his favor.  He is better on a per game basis, and helps on defense and the base paths.

Maybe they'll at least check in. GM Nick Krall did say there was some interest in extending him. But I'm guessing they already touched base on that, and maybe Puig's price was too much for the Reds.
