They went with an old school slate of power pitcher and hitter prospects ... let's see how it comes together.

How much less money percentage-wise do you expect teams to spend on free agents next offseason?
Jeffrey Todd

That is just so hard to know. It's all driven by competition. And if a bunch of teams are feeling a need to be tight ... could be hard. If anything I'd think the mid-tier veterans would again face a squeeze.

Chances I end the season with at least a .300/.400/.500 slashline?

That's awfully optimistic for nearly any hitter in baseball.

I think Josh Bell is a realistic get for the Rangers this season, but what package would we have to put up to get him?

So a guy like Bell, who is earning some money and has some control, could be likelier to move. Figure the acquiring team wouldn't be as hesitant to give up long-term talent.

Do you have an opinion as to which potential buyer Mets fans should be prefer?

Cohen seems amply capitalized and I'm not sure why you'd really prefer another dog in this particular hunt. The A-Rod/JLo/Brodie/etc dynamic would be awfully fun, though.

Okay everyone, I have to call it here. Got a few posts to write up, hurrah for baseball news!
Thanks for joining in ... I'll be settling in to a time slot, likely this one. Cheers!
