It was a very interesting deal, and as you noted, both teams might feel like they really got a nice score in exchange for spare parts.

Hill got some trade attention last winter, and so the Royals' asking price wasn't outlandish.  And adding another good reliever became even more important for SD once Wingenter was lost to Tommy John surgery

To quote Blue Rodeo, it hasn't hit me yet.  It still feels odd that actual baseball will be played in just a few days' time.  The 2019 World Series feels like a decade ago.
