Fabulous
8:59
I think the Braves will likely sign Matt Adams no later than tomorrow unless another team nabs him first.
Mark P
8:59
A return to Atlanta makes a lot of sense for Adams.
Bingo Jones
9:00
Phil Humber threw a no hitter remember that?
Mark P
9:00
A perfect game, no less!
The North
9:00
Any chance Bautista plays another game in the Majors?
Mark P
9:01
I would tend to say no at this point.  Didn't play in 2019, won't be playing in 2020 barring a big surprise.
Jack Nasty
9:01
Which Flaherty will the Cards get? The 4.90 or the 0.91?
Mark P
9:01
Heck, I'd guess the Cards would be more than happy with halfway in between those two extremes
james
9:02
Will MLB switch from service time to age for free agent and arb eligiblity?  Will eliminate game playing and help late bloomers?
Mark P
9:02
Players would like it, but the league would fight like crazy to keep the current status quo
Dustin
9:03
The extra inning runner is it the runner who got the last out or the one who last batted? If the final out was a runner stealing 3rd for example would they be the pinch runner the following inning?
Mark P
9:03
In that scenario, the caught-stealing guy would be the extra inning runner.  Since the player at the plate would still be "up," just like if there was an inning-ending CS in an earlier inning
Thor
9:04
What was Brodie's best offer for Thor? Shoulda taken it.
Mark P
9:04
That's pretty easy to say in hindsight
4 HR
9:05
Who is the last to hit 4 in a game?
Mark P
9:05
J.D. Martinez did it a couple of years ago
AROD
9:06
will I be high bidder?
Mark P
9:06
To be clear, we should start referring to this as "A-Rod's group," since while he is obviously the biggest baseball name attached, he and J-Lo will be investing a comparatively tiny fraction of the money needed to actually buy the team.
9:07
And to answer your question...maybe?  There are a lot of deep-pocketed candidates suddenly emerging as bidders
Name of Nashville Expansion Team
9:08
Bees?
Mark P
9:08
BEADS?!
I'd guess a Nashville team would have a music-related name, though that logic didn't apply to the NHL's Predators
Yordan
9:10
Any word on Air Yordan?
Mark P
9:11
He went on the IL earlier this week.  The lack of specific information would seemingly hint at something related to COVID-19 but that's up in the air.  At this point, it doesn't seem like Alvarez will be ready for Opening Day

Where like Bills,Panthers,Colts.Saints,Paroits,Cowboys,Titans,Radiers play besides Orlando a option for Blue Jays?
Mark P
9:14
None of those stadiums are compatible for baseball, to my knowledge
Or at least couldn't be made compatible within a couple of weeks' time
allinws
9:15
What do you think Yandy Diazs playing time looks like this year
Mark P
9:15
I think he'll be one of the Rays who plays more or less every day, though Tampa shuffles their lineup enough that it's hard to say for sure.
Cubbie Blue
9:16
Would you sit in a full stadium this year if a team allowed it?
Mark P
9:16
No
Jayce Tingler
9:18
Should I bite the bullet and bench Eric Hosmer against lefties?
Mark P
9:19
Yup.  And maybe, yup is still the answer even if you remove "against lefties" from the question
Ryan Zimmerman
9:19
If things change, can I opt back in?
Mark P
9:20
Players who opt out for non-medical reasons can't opt back in, no
Mariners are terrible
9:21
With the shortened season, do you think that SPs will go a lot deeper into games? Do you think openers will be more widely used?
Mark P
9:22
Just the opposite.  I think in the first few weeks, we'll see very few starters go beyond 5-6 innings since pretty much everyone is still getting ramped up
King Kelly
9:23
Your thoughts on Austin Martin?  Is he really a top-20 prospect, before he even plays a MiLB game?  Seems he doesn't have the single elite tool that many top prospects have
Mark P
9:24
The plus on Martin, however, is that he's pretty good at everything, and is more well-rounded than your average top prospect.  Now, the phrase "jack of all trades, master of none" exists for a reason, though there seems be a lot of consensus that Martin will be able to produce at the MLB level
Niko Dimitrakos
9:25
Do you think there was a winner of the Franchy Cordero deal? The Padres improved their already deep pen with a couple of guys who were set to be first guys out in a roster crunch, but 2 high potential prospects for a 30 year old low leverage reliever with 2 years of experience feels like a huge get for KC.
