I mean, the Dodgers already seem pretty set at shortstop.  The Yankees seem like the likelier trade partner of the two, though again, it depends on how much they'd be willing to surrender for one year of Lindor's services

Much is still up in the air, but I'm assuming we'll get something close to the formalized, MLB-controlled system that was floated last year, with somewhere in the neighbourhood of 30-40 minor league teams being cut

I think it will be installed by the next collective bargaining agreement at the latest, though I could see the league just making it permanent by 2021.

Stanton won’t opt out, of course, but let’s say he does.  What kind of deal does he get in years and money (as a way to guesstimate how underwater his contract is)?  Thanks.

If Stanton was a free agent, maybe a two-year deal guaranteed, with a player opt-out after the first season and maybe a club option for a third season?  A dollar figure is even harder to estimate, given all the financial uncertainty coming this offseason.

It is!  Last weekend's chat didn't happen due to all of the pre-deadline news on MLBTR, and my plan for a Tuesday afternoon chat was also put off by an absolute deluge of pre-game roster moves by seemingly every team in baseball.

Teams didn't make the Sox an offer worth accepting, that's probably all it was.  Bradley doesn't strike me as a QO candidate, either

Welcome him back to the rotation with open arms.  I could see a semi-piggyback situation with Hill and Pineda, since the Twins seem hesitant to put Hill on a regular five-day turn (probably rightly so, given his injury history)

I don't think there is any chance the Angels trade Adell.  It amazed me that were so many "Adell = bust?" questions in my last chat after the kid had played only a handful of games.  It's a good reminder --- it is very rare that a star player is immediately great from day one.
