You'll notice how I passed the buck on answering that question by just making it an open poll?  I'm so sneaky!
David Ross

How much of a chance do you give the Cubs in the postseason?
Mark P
8:50
In a year when Alec Mills is tossing no-hitters, who knows?  The Cubs don't seem to have the depth of other contenders, but in the random sample size of the postseason, a couple of players getting hot might be all Chicago needs
San Diego Chicken

What current pitchers have the best chance to get in the HOF?
Mark P
8:51
Verlander, Scherzer, Kershaw, probably Greinke, maybe Chris Sale if he makes a good recovery from TJ surgery, deGrom seems like a good bet at this point
I feel like I'm missing someone obvious, but those are the six who came to mind immediately
Jacques

I think Kyler Murray made the right move in picking football over baseball
Mark P
8:53
Seconded

What's your best reason for all the sub .200 averages by regular players? Mental or physical?
Mark P
8:54
The best reason is because this is the weirdest season ever, and every hitter had their usual preseason and in-season routines completely disrupted.

Doesn't Nelson Cruz know that he's 40? Will he get more than a year to year deal anymore?
Mark P
8:55
I could see him signing another deal like his current contract...one year with a club option for 2022 (or, maybe make the option a vesting this time)

What’s on Atlanta’s shopping list in the off-season?
Mark P
8:57
Pitching, both starting and relief.  Plus, finding the next bounce-back veteran to follow in the footsteps of Ozuna and Donaldson
Preditction man

Tatis Jr won't be anywhere nearly as good as Trout when his career is over.
Mark P
8:58
Almost certainly not, since Trout is on pace to be (at least) one of the ten best players ever.

But technically, the question is "who would rather have over the next 10 seasons," not "who will be the better player"

Think Wainwright gets HOF consideration?
Mark P
8:59
He'll definitely get on the ballot and collect a respectable amount of votes, but I don't think he'll get elected.  An outstanding career, but not a HOF career.
Willy Mays 660 home runs
9:00
Just got tied by Pujols for 660 home runs and no mention of it yet. I know Pujols is a bad player but still quite the accomplishment
Mark P
9:01
I think it's gotten to the point that Pujols is now even a bit underrated since his Cardinals prime is so long ago.  Pujols is one of the greats, no doubt.
Jason

Who in your opinion will be the biggest name traded this coming of season?
Mark P
9:01
I think Cleveland moves Lindor this winter
Jeter
9:02
What’s your thought on Our season?? Who are potentiall fa I can sign?
Mark P
9:03
Somewhat similar to what I said about the Giants, I don't see Miami going nuts on any major signings, but they can continue to add guys on one-year deals as veteran balance to all of their young talent.
Bubble baseball
9:04
What do you think of the postseason bubble in CA and TX? rather it at dodger stadium for the ALCS, no tradition in SD
Mark P
9:05
It'll be interesting to see if the "bubble" idea comes to fruition, since there has been some resistance from the MLBPA.  Beyond the logistical issues, I'll bet some of the players on the better teams are looking at the NBA and NHL playoffs and noticing that some higher seeds were really hurt by the lack of a home-field advantage
9:06
I like the idea of the NL playoffs in Texas, just because it would be hilariously ironic if the Dodgers won a big postseason series played entirely in Houston

9:06
NFL team?
Mark P
9:06
I'm a Green Bay fan, so I had a very nice afternoon!
Terry Francona
9:07
Instead of trading away our talented players, why won’t management keep our players AND add new players? Are we really that broke?
Mark P
9:09
I mean, they are adding new players in these trades.  (Franmil Reyes has been just about Cleveland's best hitter this year.)

Even pre-pandemic, the Tribe's ownership has talked about their desire to keep payroll in check to keep the team profitable.  Things certainly haven't changed for the better after a season with no fans in the stands.

Would Wainwright be a hall of farmer if he played his entire career with the Yankees?
Mark P
9:11
Probably not, considering Andy Pettitte was even better than Wainwright and didn't make it.  (Granted, Pettitte had the PED suspension hanging over him.)
Trout
9:12
I'm not an Angels fan, but referring to Trout as a top 10 player of all time is a massive understatement. He is second only to Babe Ruth at this point.
Mark P
9:13
I did say "at least" top 10 all-time, but it's also too soon to already say Trout is a GOAT.  He could start to decline next year, for all we know.  It's still too early to put him in the Ruth/Mays/Aaron/Musial tier quite yet, but he has the best chance of anyone in a long time of cracking that elite class
Oakland
9:14
How’s my infield depth with Chapman, Pinder, Barreto all gone?
Mark P
9:14
It's not great, and Jake Lamb hasn't exactly shown much over the last couple of seasons to show that he can be a solution.
Torkelson
9:16
Will I be in the bigs next year for the Tigers or did this season cost me a year?
Mark P
9:17
Torkelson has yet to play an inning in the minors, and while it isn't completely unusual to promote guys with little or no minor league experience, I can see Detroit wanting their top hitting prospect to get some proper seasoning before putting him in their MLB lineup
Trout
9:17
Top 10 ever?  Who else you got in top 10...
