Man! I had forgotten about little big league. Who will be the first manager let go this offseason?
Connor Byrne
6:52
Little Big League never gets its due. Off the top of my head, I think Mattingly will be out in Miami, and Maddon will probably be gone from Chicago whenever the Cubs' season ends (barring a championship). Hurdle should go in Pittsburgh. And we already know Bochy's retiring in SF, if that counts.

Your thoughts on expansion and Portland’s chances of cities mentioned. Thanks.
Connor Byrne
6:53
Manfred has sort of shot down expansion until the Rays/A's stadium situations are sorted out. Portland will probably be high on the list of cities to get a team if MLB does expand, though.

Do you think that MLB should go to a NHL-type draft lottery, where the team with the poorest regular season record is not guaranteed the first overall pick?  Might discourage mega-tanking, at least a bit?
Connor Byrne
6:53
I don't like draft lotteries. Draft order should be determined by record, in my opinion.
Girardi
6:54
Top 3 fits: Mets, Angels, Phil’s?
Connor Byrne
6:54
I don't think the Mets would pony up for Girardi, even though we know he can handle NYC. Angels probably aren't getting rid of Brad Ausmus after one year. Phillies by default.

Correa for Lindor? even trade
Connor Byrne
6:56
This would be fun, but Cleveland wouldn't do it.

Who's your NL MVP pick?
Connor Byrne
6:58
It was Yelich. Probably Bellinger now.
Adam
6:58
Where's the NL West Trade Deadline assessment?
Connor Byrne
6:58
I think Jeff Todd has been writing up the deadline assessment pieces, so you'd have to ask him.

When’s the current cba expire? Also, please tell me there’s at least some chance of a hard salary cap, both minimum and maximum. It’s the only way small market teams will ever be able to CONSISTENTLY compete.
Connor Byrne
6:59
The CBA expires in December 2021. A cap isn't happening.

If Maddon leaves the Cubs, who grabs him?
Connor Byrne
6:59
As with Girardi, a win-now team would make sense. However, Maddon will be 66 by next season, so maybe this is it.

First, how does the August waiver trade deadline make any difference? I've looked at various lists of the best trade deadline deals of all-time and virtually none of them list any August trades.

Justin Verlander to Houston?

Who replaces Bochy
Connor Byrne
7:01
I'd like to see Bochy's bench coach, Hensley Meulens, finally get a chance. He has interviewed for other teams' jobs in recent years, but no dice to this point.

Will Mike Scioscia ever manage again?
Connor Byrne
7:01
I doubt it.

What type of trade value do Frazier and Andujar have right now for us?
Connor Byrne
7:03
It seems the time to trade Clint Frazier would've been at this year's deadline, as he was stuck in the minors and NYY badly needed pitching. He stayed put, and I'm guessing that won't change in the winter. Can't see NYY selling low on Andujar, whom GM Brian Cashman loves. He could easily be their primary DH next year if they decline Encarnacion's option. Plus, who's to say Gio Urshela will tear it up again at third?

Marlins, Orioles, royals, tigers, Mariners, who will be better in 2020 possibly contending from that group?
Connor Byrne
7:04
That's a pretty sorry group. Don't see any of them contending next year, but the Mariners are the closest, I guess.

Do you see carmago being traded this off-season to help fill holes else where?
Connor Byrne
7:06
Camargo has been abysmal this year. If the Braves do trade him, it won't be for much.
Apex
7:06
Mookie for Hiura and Hader who says no?
Connor Byrne
7:07
Definitely the Brewers. They wouldn't trade Hiura alone for Betts, let alone him and Hader.

Will the Reds finally have a winning record next year?
Connor Byrne
7:07
For their fans' sake, I hope so, but I'm not betting on it.

Do you consider regular season results an indication of post-season matchups?
Connor Byrne
7:09
As in, if one team owns another during the reg. season, will it carry over? Not necessarily. The postseason's a different animal.

Wha is the future of Odubel Herrera after the Phils eat his contract and say see ya? I can’t foresee another team taking a chance on his fan appeal.
Connor Byrne
7:09
Addison Russell's still playing, to the chagrin of many. Herrera would probably get another chance.

What will be a great off season for the Angels?
