Does Bumgardner equal NLCS?
Connor Byrne
2:15
"What year is it?"
Mike Trout
2:16
When do i finally throw my hands up in the air and ask the angels to trade me? I'm wasting my career not making the playoffs and having a shot at a title.
Connor Byrne
2:17
It's a disgrace they're still this bad with two MVP contenders (Trout and Rendon) and maybe a Cy Young contender (Bundy), but Trout doesn't seem like the type who would demand a trade. At least, not yet.
Tigers Fan
2:17
I think adding at least one bat would be a priority in the offseason (maybe an outfielder?) Who would be a reasonable target?
Connor Byrne
2:18
If they want to spend at the top of the market, Realmuto would be a godsend. Springer also comes to mind. Robbie Grossman?
2:19
Michael Brantley as well
Justin
2:19
After all of youR guys’ negativity and pessimism about the season and Covid, are you ready to admIt that the season will likely be completed?
Connor Byrne
2:20
It's easy to be pessimistic about a lot of things these days. I now do think the season will be concluded, but I can't predict how a global virus is going to go in the next several weeks.
Padres Fan
2:20
Is Tatis already the best player in MLB?
Connor Byrne
2:21
I'd give him that title this year
Pudge Rodriguez
2:22
What has happened to my high-powered Rangers offense??? What can they do to get back to respectable, other than George Springer?
Connor Byrne
2:22
For one, enough already with Rougned Odor. "He's terrible, but we're going to keep playing him every day because he makes money"-Texas every year
Andrus isn't good either
Nicholas
2:23
Are the White Sox doing better you expecting? Do you have Robert winning the rookie of the Year?
Connor Byrne
2:24
Probably a bit. I liked them as playoff contenders coming into the season. They should be around for a while, if what we've seen this season is any indication. As I said before, Lewis over Robert by a nose, but could easily see Robert winning
Yo Mama

If CC gets to the hall, I suppose that after 11 years in New York he goes in as a Yank. But does it not seem that his best years were before that?
Connor Byrne
2:25
I'll remember him more as a Yankee than an Indian or a Brewer, even though he was tremendous with those two teams as well
Aj Preller
2:26
Has my seat cooled off?
Connor Byrne
2:26
It absolutely has. I love what the Preller-led Padres are doing. It's nice to see a long-suffering team get it together.
Caleb Clark
2:27
In your opinion, what do you think the most surprising rumor during the deadline that didn't happen, not counting the Gallo and Lynn rumors.
Connor Byrne
2:28
There weren't that many rumors this year, but aside from Lynn, I'm surprised Kevin Gausman didn't go anywhere. The Giants are red hot now, though, so maybe it's a good thing they kept him
Jimmy
2:30
If no extension, what are the Cubs going to do with KB? He can play anywhere and obviously still a great hitter but with only one year of control left I'd have to think the Cubs wont get much for him aside from a top 75 guy or two
Connor Byrne
2:31
At least listen to offers, but the Cubs are still a good team, so they can always hold a non-extended Bryant, see how they look at next year's deadline, and then make a decision. Worst-case, give him a qualifying offer after 2021

Do you know what is gong to happen with Jose Martínez?
Connor Byrne
2:32
For now, he's just a part of the Cubs' alternate site. He wasn't DFA'd or anything, so he's still with the org.

2:33
Hey Connor. Here’s a hypothetical trade-Edwin Diaz for Bradley Zimmer. The Indians get a young bullpen arm who they can rebuild after two awful seasons. The Mets get a speedy centerfielder. This is a change of scenery trade. Your thoughts?
Connor Byrne
2:33
I'd much rather have Diaz

Why are these chats in the middle of the day??  I'm pretending to work!
Connor Byrne
2:34
Haha. Sorry to say, but this could be the new Wednesday chat time. I have to cover the site from 4 ET-midnight, so it's easier to get the chat out of the way now. Tough to do both at once.

Jake cronenworth the next Ben Zobrist?
Connor Byrne
2:35
I really like Cronenworth, but if he ends up with a 44-WAR career, that would be pretty great
Jeremy
2:36
Why would Dave Martinez's contract be extended?  Aside from their magical run last year, they have been under-.500 for his entire tenure.
Connor Byrne
2:36
Less than a year removed from winning a World Series earns you quite a bit of leeway, as it should. I'd extend him from their perspective.
Jeremy
2:37
Speaking of Ben Zobrist - what is the latest with Ben Zobrist?  Has he officially retired?
Connor Byrne
2:37
He said he's not going to play this year, but he didn't necessarily retire. However, as a soon-to-be 40-year-old, it's hard to think he'll come back

2:38
Will the Yankees make the playoffs?
Connor Byrne
2:38
Yes, but I don't feel good at all about picking them to win the World Series.

Do you think Don Mattingly should be in the Hall of Fame?
