You've answered a couple of trade suggestions with "no's".  Do you think Hader gets moved this winter at all?  Is he enough to get David Fletcher from the Angels?
Mark P
6:19
Brewers will be asking for a lot for Hader, but if another team is willing to meet that price, I wouldn't be shocked.

As to whether Hader-for-Fletcher could happen.....no.

Fletcher is a very valuable player for Anaheim, able to fill a lot of holes in the lineup.

WS call Marlins-Orioles in 2050
Mark P
6:20
I hope we're here in 2050 to see if you're correct!
SotoSlam

If the Rays win the WS, does it give justification for owners and front offices to spend less?
Mark P
6:21
Owners and front offices never need "justification" to find reasons to spend less

What is your favorite ballpark to catch a game? Petco is tough to beat, right?
Mark P
6:22
I've never had the pleasure of attending a game at Petco, but I've heard nothing but good things.  My personal favorite of the parks I've visited is PNC Park in Pittsburgh

if teams can extend there impending free agents now, then why hasn't something happened between the phillies and there two big free agents (DIDI and JT)
Mark P
6:23
Because those two want to test the market, unless the Phillies swooped in with a completely absurd offer.
Answer this...
6:24
Since I keep reading posts by trolls that Kris Bryant has no value remaining.....how many teams would show interest if the Cubs actively put him in the market?  One? Six? Eighteen? 29?
Mark P
6:26
Plenty of teams would have "interest" depending on how you define the word.  Virtually every would-be contender would be on the phone with Epstein checking to see what the Cubs wanted, and a lot of those could be short conversations.

I think Bryant would get serious consideration from at least five teams, his poor 2020 season notwithstanding
Quite possibly more depending on the nature of the trade --- who else is involved, would the Cubs eat any money, etc.
Next Champ?
6:27
Baseball ends this week....The Masters right around the calendar.....who you got?  Bizarre l
Mark P
6:28
Watching the Masters in November is going to feel very weird.  I guess it might be unwise to pick against DeChambeau at this point, except his track record at Augusta is nothing special.  Maybe a former champ who knows the course more and is better prepared for how it might differ from April to November.

Which teams, besides the Dodgers, have the depth to make a trade offer for Lindor?
Mark P
6:30
Sounds like you're looking for a match in a Francisco Lindor trade!

Who is a more realistic signing for the Braves? Bauer, Marcus Stroman or John Lester??
Mark P
6:31
A Stroman/Anthopoulos reunion in Atlanta makes a lot of sense.  Stroman fits the Donaldson/Ozuna/Hamels mold as a big player who could maybe be had on a one-year deal, except Stroman has been pretty vocal about wanting a long-term payday.  Maybe he would accept a one-year deal with a player option for 2022?  Hard to project that his market will look like since he didn't pitch

Giants sign Nelson plz!
Mark P
6:34
The Giants would need to know about the NL's designated hitter plans before considering that

Am I about to become a free agent?
Mark P

Most definitely.  The Rangers aren't picking up that option.

Well, thank you!

What team that didn't make the playoffs this year do you see making it next year? For me, easy answer is Philly, but I like Seattle to seriously contend for a spot.
Mark P

Purely as a wild guess since we don't know what the offseason will bring or what next year's playoffs will even look like.....the Nationals

Am I still on the Red Sox next year?

Barring a surprise official retirement, yes, technically

With how volatile relievers are, and seeing as how the Rays seem to pickup closer after closer off the scrap heap, why don’t more teams just try to emulate that process?? I get guys like Hader are good, but it’s arguable you could find someone who’s like 90-95% as good for 1/10 the cost
Mark P
6:40
Teams definitely try to emulate this, but obviously it's easier said than done.  And if you have money to spend, why not let some other team do the heavy lifting of developing such a pitcher and then just acquire him?
Justin Turner
6:40
Am I still a Dodger next year or does Edwin Rios take my spot?
Mark P
6:41
The Dodgers couldn't be faulted for re-signing Turner and then just running things back (as best they can, if there's no DH to work with).
Shane

Is Minnesota's continued playoff failure largely due to never having a workhorse ace?
Mark P
6:42
The Twins' playoff losing streak defies any easy answer by this point.  Their hitters going ice-cold in October has been as big or greater of an issue than the pitching.

Give me a bad contract swap that the Rangers could make for the final two years of Andrus or Odor.
Mark P
6:45
Andrus' $15MM club option for 2023 becomes a player option in the event of a trade, so I think he might be virtually immovable.

As for Odor....hmm, maybe call up the Rockies and talk about Ian Desmond?  Though Desmond only has $10MM still owed through the end of his contract, so it couldn't be a one-for-one

Do I sign for 9 figures?
