The Lerners have kind of an unusual reputation since they don't have much problem spending on big-name talent (free agents, extensions, etc.) but apparently they're also wary on extending too much money towards front office executives or, especially, managers

He makes some sense as an understudy for Longoria, and a possible eventual replacement for Crawford at shortstop.  The Giants can play him at 2B for 2021 and then go from there.  Now, the problem is that the Giants also have a big shortstop prospect coming up in Marco Luciano, and Kim might prefer to sign with a team with a clear everyday role at his preferred position (shortstop)

Judge seemed to be the face of the yankees just a year ago,  but would it not be wise to see what kind of pitching he could bring back in a trade? No way do I see the yankees doing a Stanton type contract for another giant who can't stay on the field.Frasier can play right field And Brantley free agent would be good in left.

I would tend to think the Yankees wouldn't trade Judge.  But, your argument isn't wrong....I personally doubt they'll sign him to a contract extension, so why not at least test the market to see if anyone team would go overpay for Judge?
