The stats being counted only cover the 1920-48 period, and Aaron's Negro League stint came after 1948

I’ve asked this before but did not get an answer, so hoping this is the week! Do you think Lindor and Carrasco get you Gurriel, Austin Martin and another prospect? Jays not as hurt by the pandemic as other teams financially.
Mark P
7:29
I highly doubt Austin Martin is being dealt, but Gurriel/top prospect/slightly lesser prospect seems feasible.

what does it take the jays to get castillo
Mark P
7:32
The Jays had interest in Moustakas last offseason, so they stand out to me as candidates for some kind of a Castillo/Moose trade package.  Maybe add in Akiyama as well.

Open presents christmas eve (or one, saving the rest for christmas morning).. or only christmas morning? Most memorable gift received before the age of 21?
Mark P
7:33
We're a "gifts on Xmas Day" family.  As for most childhood memorable gift....hmm, I'd have to lean towards a Nintendo

Do we see Field of Dreams game next year"?
Mark P
7:34
It's on the schedule, but like everything else, we'll have to wait and see

I've got an itchy trigger finger, right? What if I get rid of bryce and line the farm? Not that hard to get a corner OF (i know this is insane but...)
Mark P
7:36
It is very hard to concoct a scenario where another team takes Bryce Harper's contract.

Would Atl be a suitor for Castillo if they take on Suarez’s contract as well. Include Riley, and maybe waters and see what names have to be filled out, Suarez fills a need as a RH 3B and Castillo is young, controllable & really good. Atl has been looking for just a pitcher for the last 3-4 years it seems
Mark P
7:38
Atlanta also makes a lot of sense for a hypothetical Castillo/Suarez deal, especially with Riley and young pitchers to be dangled as trade chips.
Clint Frazier
7:39
Why do I keep hearing my name in trades? Wouldn’t the Yankees want a guy who improved immensely from the previous year?  What/Who would I get traded too?
Mark P
7:40
My guess is that Yankees will keep Frazier because he's young, talented, and the rest of their outfielders keep getting injured.
Twins Geek
7:40
Big twins fan, I think they are on the cusp of a special run and breaking playoff woes. What do they need to do to get there?
Mark P
7:41
It seems like they have all sorts of talent, and yet there's always a team-wide slump once the postseason hits.  It really is hard to fathom that they've gone so long without winning as much as a single playoff game, let alone a series.  Maybe the baseball gods will cut them a break and give them a decade's worth of postseason victories in 2021, who knows

Are the White Sox the favorites in the central?
Mark P
7:44
Not sure I'd quite put Chicago ahead of Minnesota just yet, but if Cruz doesn't re-sign, that's a big blow to the Twins.  Let's put it to a vote....
Your pick in the AL Central?

Chicago (57% | 466 votes)

Minnesota (28.6% | 234 votes)

Cleveland (8.8% | 72 votes)

KC (5.5% | 45 votes)

Total Votes: 817
(Yes, I realize I left the Tigers out of the poll.  Sorry, Detroit fans.)

When can we expect resolution on the Molina market?  Are there really teams outside St. Louis who would give 2 years to a 38 old catcher?
Mark P
7:48
There are enough catcher-needy teams that I can't entirely rule it out, but I tend to agree.  A player with Molina's numbers and age wouldn't normally even sniff a two-year deal, but it's Molina
Braves
7:48
wait what? there's literally one player type that wouldn't help the braves right now and it's SP
Mark P
7:49
Atlanta probably has more pressing needs, but it's never a bad idea to add Luis Castillo to your rotation
Javy Baez
7:50
Would a Javy Baez for Cavan Biggio ever happen?
Mark P
7:50
I highly highly doubt the Jays are trading Biggio at all, let alone for Baez

Adell, Marsh, Jordyn Adams, and Detmers to Cincinnati for Castillo, Gray, and a PTBNL. Who says no?
Mark P
7:51
The Reds, since as attractive as that offer looks, it doesn't solve Cincinnati's most immediate apparent problem, which is cutting payroll
Philly A's
7:53
What is your opinion on a salary floor?  Doesn't the success of the A's and Rays show that teams can be competitive without the $175m price tag?
Mark P
7:54
The MLBPA should absolutely be asking for a salary floor in the upcoming CBA talks, but the owners will never go for it.
Nintendo
7:55
What was your favorite Nintendo game?
Mark P
7:55
Can't pick anything other than Mario 3
Maybe still the best game ever made, any console

Any movement on Molina or wainwright coming soon
Mark P
7:56
No real news as of late, which surprises me since I sort of assumed at least one would have re-signed with STL relatively quickly.  I'd still lean towards both returning to the Cardinals, but as the winter rolls on, I'm becoming less certain

If a runner tries to stretch a single into a double but he is out at second. Does that count towards a players OBP?
Mark P
7:58
Yep, it counts as a hit, so it counts towards OBP.  One of many fun little quirks of baseball stats!

Would Votto to Toronto be something that he’d wave his no trade for? If so, packaged with Castillo? What would Reds expect in return?
Mark P
8:02
Votto has been pretty vocal about not waiving his no-trade clause.  There have also been some rumors that he doesn't have interest in playing in his hometown since he values some separation between his personal and professional life.
