Happ
2:41
Would halos be a good fit?
Connor Byrne
2:41
I don't hate them as a JA Happ. Boring signing, but he can do a decent job chewing up some innings. Everyone knows durability has been a problem for LAA's staff.
2:42
*as a JA Happ fit*
Koos
2:42
Wainwright to the Mets? How does that sound?
Connor Byrne
2:42
I like it a lot better than Matz as the No. 5. DeGrom, Carrasco, Stroman, Waino and Peterson with Syndergaard coming back in the summer would look nice.
Re: Nats
2:43
If the Nats make another move for the offense, what would it be?
Connor Byrne
2:44
C or 3B. Realmuto makes sense there if they actually want to spend that much. Back in our free agent discussions at MLBTR, we were big on the idea of Justin Turner going there. But we'll see what they do with Kieboom at 3B.

Expectations for Arozarena this year?
Connor Byrne
2:46
Not the otherworldly superhuman we saw in the playoffs, but a very good player. He was either my No. 1 or 2 pick in last spring's mock MLBTR expansion draft! (Not bragging, as a lot of my other picks were awful)
2:48
Arozarena has a 167 regular-season wRC+ in the majors. I thought during the playoffs there was way too much "where did this guy come from?"-type stuff going on in the media, especially the TV broadcasts.

JBJ/Almora platoon in CF if Lindor deal prices out Springer, could the Mets do that
Connor Byrne
2:49
Don't see the Mets adding both unless they offload Nimmo, Conforto or Smith, and I don't expect JBJ to settle for a platoon role. I do like Almora as a No. 4 if the Mets don't sign Springer.

Why no love at at all for Alex Wood?
Connor Byrne
2:50
I like Alex Wood, but he's a reclamation project right now - not someone a team can count on as a regular contributor.
Jonah
2:51
Do you see a surprise move in the next week or two for the Cubs or is this the team headed to spring training?
Connor Byrne
2:51
I think something will get done at some point. Will it be particularly exciting? I doubt it, based on how they've operated this offseason.
2:52
They at least have to add another starter, right?
And Bryant may well go, so that would qualify as exciting. Just in terms of additions, though, I'm not expecting much.
Sox fan
2:52
What’s the point of the Sox selling low on Benetendi?
Connor Byrne
2:53
I'm reserving judgment until seeing the return (if there is one), but on paper, it doesn't seem like the optimal time to move him.
Cleveland Name
2:53
Any suggestions?
Connor Byrne
2:55
Cleveland Clowns. You honor the Negro Leagues' Indianapolis Clowns, whose unis were pretty similar to Cleveland's right now. It also rhymes with Cleveland Browns, so you can have the Clowns and Browns in one city.
Hank Aaron as an Indianapolis Clown:

Dodgers have to respond to the Padres with a big move of their own, right?
Connor Byrne
2:56
The Dodgers can do nothing and still go into next year as the best team in the game on paper.
Chaim Bloom
2:57
Are the Red Sox ownership stopping me from spending any real money or am I waiting out the free agent market?
Connor Byrne
2:57
It may be a combination of the two. Chaim Bloom doesn't strike me as the type who's going to dole out huge contracts willy-nilly unless he truly believes it's the right time/opportunity.
Just my opinion
2:58
Where does kluber end up signing....? Your prediction of course
Connor Byrne
2:59
Kind of a lazy suggestion, but I like the Twins fit with Derek Falvey (ex-Cleveland exec) there. And let's not forget Angels pitching coach Mickey Callaway was CLE's pitching coach when Kluber won two Cy Youngs there.
Greg S
3:00
Theo Epstein next MLB commissioner or does he take on a team in need in a year or two?
Connor Byrne
3:01
I like the commissioner idea. He's already won titles with the Red Sox and Cubs, cementing his HOF status. Taking over the entire league would be a logical step at some point. Guarantee he'd do a better job than Manfred has.
Connor Byrne > David Byrne
3:01
Who's the best bet: Corey Kluber or James Paxton?
Connor Byrne
3:01
Well, thanks, but I'm not better than David Byrne (few are). I'm a bigger Kluber fan right now.

Are White Sox better than the Twins ?
Connor Byrne
3:02
Right now, but the Twins are going to make some moves still.
Farhan
3:03
Which lefty SP am I going to end up with?
Connor Byrne
3:03
I do like Paxton there as a reclamation project. Seems like something SF would do.
I'd rather take a shot on an upside play than someone like Lester or Hamels.

Do you like 7 inning doubleheaders for this season ?
Connor Byrne
3:04
I'm on board with them
