I love the depth I have but is my pitching staff good enough?

They are good enough to compete for a playoff spot, but can't assume that Davies, Anderson, Chacin will repeat their success from '17. Could be disastrous if 2 of them take a step backwards/misses time due to injury. Need to add a frontline SP and it sounds like they're trying.

Do you honestly see things improving for minor leaguers in the next agreement?
AvatarJason Martinez

I hope it does. But despite some rumblings about how little they make as Minor Leaguers, it has never seemed like it would become a top priority. I'm guessing any changes would benefit Major Leaguers.

Does Boog Powell have what it takes to be an everyday center fielder? It would be a shame to waste that name on a bench player.

If Dustin Fowler is healthy and beats him out for the CF job, we might never know. If Fowler needs some more time in the minors to get back in the groove after the leg injury, Boog would likely get a decent amount of PAs for the first month or two of the season.

Matt Holliday finds a team?

I'm sure most teams would be willing to give him an MiLB deal right now. I don't really see a great fit for him right now, though. Best fit would be part-time DH on a contender. Maybe the Twins if Sano is suspended and it is longer than anticipated.

You mentioned that you thought the Yankees could add a 2b/3b. Any thoughts on who that might be?

Eduardo Nuñez, Mike Moustakas or Neil Walker

The Dodgers starting left fielder on Opening day is...  at midseason...

I think Pederson bounces back and holds onto a starting job for the entire season. The battle would be between Verdugo, Toles and Forsythe. And if Verdugo ends up winning a starting job at some point, not sure if Pederson or Verdugo would play LF.

How many teams this year will go with a 6-man rotation.  And what are your thoughts about this strategy?
AvatarJason Martinez

A legitimate 6-man rotation? Angels are in the unique position to give it a try because one of Ohtani and because of all the injury concerns. I'm not sold on them sticking with it. I think other teams will experiment a bit and utilize the 10-Day DL as much as possible so their best 2-3 starters are pitching every 5 days and 2-5 others are making starts on a semi-regular basis. Teams value versatility. Can't have 5 of their 25 players unavailable every game.

On the recent poll on MLBTR about player's salary, the majority of readers voted that players are overpaid. What is your personal opinion and thoughts on the topic?
AvatarJason Martinez

It's kind of a tricky question because we don't have an understanding of the full picture. It really depends on how much revenue an owner is making at the end of the season. Players are asking for a bigger portion of the business' overall revenue. If that information was available to us, I think the poll would be much different.

Who wins 4 and 5 behind Castillo, Bailey and Disco?
AvatarJason Martinez
6:34
Finnegan, if he's healthy. Stephenson was really good at the end of last season. I think he gets a spot unless Mahle or Romano just clearly outpitch him this spring.

Do you think SF has a chance of securing the second wildcard? Their offense has improved but i think the pen is still sketchy.
AvatarJason Martinez
6:36
Sure. Health will play a major factor, but their roster is good enough on paper. They really need Melancon to be healthy.

Best named player ever?

Ericdavis Marquez, former Pirates and Blue Jays Minor Leaguer ...  https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=marque001er... in '91 so no doubt he was named after Reds superstar Eric Davis.
