How many pa can Willie Calhoun get?

As of now, I have him projected for 422 PAs between DH and LF. That could change if the Rangers sign another starting position player. If they sign Cain, for example, Calhoun would probably have to compete with Deshields for playing time.

What are your thoughts on Colin Moran being the regular 3B for the Pirates this year? He looked really good last year before getting hurt...

My projection is .271/.331/.421 with 13 HR, 22 2B in 457 PAs. That's not completely buying in to his power surge in '17. But if it's real, I can see him being much better (20 HR, 30 2B with 550+ PAs). Perfect opportunity him, as long as he doesn't feel too much pressure. He could be the key to that deal for Pittsburgh.

Thoughts on Matt Bush as a starting pitcher? or on the conversion of RP to SP in general?

Doesn't hurt to find out. He's had a hard time staying healthy, anyways. Has shown flashes of being a dominant reliever, but hasn't really happened. Might as well see if he can be a reliable mid-rotation starter.

do you think the A's have a shot this year and if so who do they need to target now?

Bullpen looks pretty good. Lineup has a chance to be very good. But not enough starting pitching. They need too many unproven guys to step up.

Is the Mets farm system really bad and who are some of players we should keep an eye on this season

David Thompson and Jhoan Urena should be their starting third basemen in AAA and AA. Both were good in '17. Either has a chance to prove that they can be the answer at 3B in '19, assuming David Wright won't be healthy enough. Lefty starter Anthony Kay (1st Rd pick in '16) is another one to watch. He missed '17 recovering from TJ surgery.

Mitch Haniger: Next star outfielder? Stats show a lot of upside in the kid, and he was hot out of the gate.

He probably would've had a 25 HR, 35 2B season with an .800+ OPS in '17 if he hadn't had the two DL stints. Pretty good for his 1st full season. Not sure he can be a "star", but he's at least a very good outfielder with 5 years of club control.

With all the OF depth at the major/minor league level, wouldn't it make more sense for the Crew to trade for a pitcher than offer Darvish a contract?
AvatarJason Martinez

Not if they can sign Arrieta or Darvish. Maybe their focus changes if they can't sign a top free agent starting pitcher.

OK, gotta run. Thanks for stopping by. Feel free to send more questions to @mlbdepthcharts and I'll get back ASAP.
