Starting Pitcher. Closer. Another starting pitcher. Another late-inning reliever. They can probably add another bat, but I don't see them paying big money for one.

What would the Mets need to give up for Dee Gordon?

I don't know if the price will be really high, but I don't think the Mets have it. They might have the worst farm system in baseball. Gonna be tough to make trades this offseason.

What is a legitimate timeframe to expect to see Allard and Soroka in the rotation for Atlanta? Late next season?

I think they'll both be ready by mid-2018. Ideally, the Braves won't need both. If that happens, things probably aren't going so well with the five guys they started the season with. Of course, one could be on another team if the Braves make a big trade this offseason.

Which veteran bounce back bat makes sense more for the White Sox than Joey Bats? Thanks
AvatarJason Martinez

If Joey Bats feels like being a mentor at this point in his career with a good chance that he's traded to a contender in July, I think that's an excellent fit. Same for Jayson Werth and Curtis Granderson. White Sox have room for at least one in the OF and another veteran stopgap at 3B.

Chances Wade Davis is signed as a non-closer? His best year was as a setup man, and in terms of value it doesn’t matter what inning you pitch so money shouldn’t be a factor.

Slim to none. Too many good teams are in need of a closer. Davis and Holland will both get paid a lot of $ to be some team's closer.

Does A.J. Reed have a role with HOU next year?

Going into the offseason, I'd say that have room for one bat and several in-house candidates (Reed included). I can see them replacing Beltran with a more established bat, though. I like Carlos Santana as a fit. Reed's next chance might come with another team.
Thanks in advance ;-)

If you HAD to guess, where do you see Hosmer landing?

My pick is the Mariners.

Do we resign Lucroy? What is the cost?
AvatarJason Martinez
6:55
I think there's a very good chance. Not a big market for catchers and Lucroy was having a terrible season at the plate before the trade so his price tag won't be high. Maybe 2-3 years at $8-10MM per season.

Think Cessa can crack the Yankees rotation next year? He was throwing gas and touching 100 in his last start before getting hurt
AvatarJason Martinez

I think they'll fill out the rotation with 5 guys who aren't him, but that doesn't mean he won't be needed at some point. 11 different pitchers made starts for them in 2017.

Where do you see Nunez next season?
AvatarJason Martinez

He's a good fit on so many different teams. I think the Braves are a fit if they don't sign Moustakas, but he's also a fit with the Red Sox, Angels, Giants and at least a few other teams. Not many guys have his combination of versatility/speed/hitting ability. And he won't cost nearly as much as other starting position players.

Everyone seems to see the Braves going after a top tier pitcher and a top third baseman this offseason. That amounts to going for it and leaving the rebuild in the dust to me. Is that the road you see them taking over next year?
AvatarJason Martinez

Rebuild is over. They have one of the best (maybe the best) farm system in baseball.  A lot of talent on the way. A lot of trade chips. Some $ to spend in free agency.
7:02
OK, that's all for me. More offseason talk next Wednesday. Enjoy the rest of the 2017 season. I have a feeling that the World Series drama isn't over yet. This Dodgers team isn't going down quietly.
