Not sure how tight that budget is. With a $4.3MM projected salary, that's not bad for what Shoemaker can bring to the table. But injuries are a concern. Angels need someone to stabilize that rotation.

Trade Target for the Padres? Heck yes. Whether the Indians would be willing to trade him at any point in the next year or two is another question. That dude is good. Indians fans love him. And he's signed to a team-friendly contract thru '23. Indians aren't likely to make him available unless they go into full rebuild mode. And that's not happening this offseason.
