I'm not even going to answer this!
Okay ... Mike Trout. Not close.

A personal aside: 8-ball comment was not ripping you. just struck me as funny
Jeffrey Todd
2:50
No worries, didn't take it that way.
Braves Brave
2:51
Ok, the 2016-2017 free agents just posted, who can you see the Braves going after in the top ten?
Jeffrey Todd
2:51
Hmmm ...
Maybe Cashner?
Michael
2:51
Who has the better year: Clayton Kershaw or Jake Arrieta?
Jeffrey Todd
2:52
I'll always bet on Kershaw.
Young Justice S3
2:52
Wait... it's not Thursday
Jeffrey Todd
2:52
Oh, yeah. Steve Adams is on some Caribbean adventure. He must be making more money than me!
Honestly, who does a 2-week cruise in their early thirties?
groucho
2:53
You watching the game in Cuba right now?? Pretty cool...
Jeffrey Todd
2:53
Unfortunately, no. I was worried my computer would get cranky and ruin the chat. Making sacrifices for you, the reader -- it's what I do.
Mike
2:53
What do you think it takes for Cleveland to abandon the "not trading top 3?"
Jeffrey Todd
2:54
If that was going to happen, it probably already would have. No reason not to just enjoy those excellent pitchers at their relatively low rates of pay unless you're wowed.
Dave
2:54
Does Boston look to upgrade the pen with the Carson news?
Jeffrey Todd
2:55
They still have the late-inning guys. Koji and Tazawa in front of Kimbrel is hardly a disaster. Price to find a true replacement, rather than some depth add, would probably be prohibitive.
Michael
2:55
Can I compliment you on your work at MLBTR?
Jeffrey Todd
2:55
You may. Proceed.
David
2:55
Odds that both Bautista (6/150) and Edwin (5/100) get what they're looking for next off-season?
Jeffrey Todd
2:56
Well, there's a lot of variability because there's still a season left to go. And they are old and limited sluggers. If I was to bet right now on an over/under of $250MM total for the pair, I guess I'd take the under.

What happened to the moderators on this site? Trolling is at an all time high...
Jeffrey Todd
2:57
We'll try to keep a closer eye out. Still working out the commenting system. But hey, if that's the real BigPapi4Ever, that doesn't sound like an unreasonable number.

2:58
Does Morneau sign at all or retire?
Jeffrey Todd
2:58
He's out til mid-season, if you missed the news. We'll see what happens then, but have to think he'll try after coming back last year. He seemed to suggest he would in his comments, and he can still hit.

When will Cubans be able to come to the U.S. freely to pursue their baseball careers?
Jeffrey Todd
2:59
I'd expect some variation of the NPB/KBO system rather than a free-for-all, but yes, I expect that will be sorted out and implemented at some point.

Al East Final Standings - 1. Red Sox 102-60 -- 2. Jays 86-76 -- 3. O's 82-80 -- 4. Rays 78-84 -- 5. Yankees 69-93
Jeffrey Todd
2:59
Hmmm ... or is this the real papi?
Vince

Do you buy Jean Segura's hot start?
Jeffrey Todd
3:00
He now has to overcome a presumption that he's not an average hitter in the regular season.
Dave

Presumably, the Brewers asked for Giolito when the Nats called about Lucroy. Given Lucroy's enormous talent, that seems like a fair deal to me. Which team is being unreasonable?
Jeffrey Todd
3:01
No way I'd give up 6+ seasons of a cheap Giolito for two years of Lucroy at this point. Maybe if the Nats had been pursuing catching help last winter, before Lucas had a monster year under his belt and while there were 3 years left of a pre-injury Lucroy.

Who do you seeing closing games for Philly?
Jeffrey Todd

More than one person.

Jeff, I'd like to offer you a position as PR Director.
Jeffrey Todd

Done.
