Jeffrey Todd
3:03
Still waiting for him to emerge from his secret underground pitching lair.
Bill Veeck
3:03
fantasy league value of Drake Laroche?
Jeffrey Todd
3:03
I mean, if you were going to pick a 14-year-old kid, you could probably do a lot worse.
Brandon
3:04
Should the Giants extend Belt beyond a few FA years? He is streaky, and seemingly prone to concussions/concussion symptoms. In a full seasons worth of games at 1B, Posey has hit .346/.400/.540. I like Belt, but this doesn't seem like an easy question to answer.
Jeffrey Todd
3:04
It's not an easy one, no. I expect they have their price in mind and won't just do whatever it takes.
Bill
3:06
I know the Astros are paying Doug Fister pretty good money, but how do they justify putting him in the rotation over Fiers, given their respective springs?
Jeffrey Todd
3:06
Well, I think both are going to end up in the rotation b/c McCullers is going to be on the DL. And you see how things go from there.
B dubz
3:07
Best sleeper value this year for fantasy baseball--position player and pitcher?
Jeffrey Todd
3:07
Travis d'Arnaud and Nathan Eovaldi
3:08
(I just made that up. Don't ever listen to me on fantasy matters.)
Marc
3:08
Juan Nicasio just picked up 6 more Ks on his off day. Bad jokes aside, The PIrates have to at least consider him over Locke/Vogelsong right?
Jeffrey Todd
3:09
Sure, and I think they are. They will probably all be on the team in some capacity anyway, so it'll sort out over the year.
B dubz
3:09
Best bargain bin FA signing this off-season?
Jeffrey Todd
3:10
I know a lot of teams probably weren't willing to sign him at any price, but hard to argue with Latos at $3MM. He could provide so much surplus value and surely has the motivation. If it's a disaster, you cut bait and move on.
Jose
3:10
I know Cespedes can technically become a free agent next offseason, but he'd be foolish to do so, agree?
Jeffrey Todd
3:11
If he had to decide now, he'd opt out. We'll see what happens over the year, but he's probably going back on the market.
DK
3:11
Any chance Dierkes does another video mailbag ever again?
Jeffrey Todd
3:11
Wow did that really happen? That sounds awesome and terrifying.
Crap, we forgot to do the mailbag yesterday ... again. I'll chalk that up to Steve's absence. Sorry!
TD
3:12
Any chance Derek Norris could land one of the Rangers' big three prospects? (Gallo, Profar, Mazara)
Jeffrey Todd
3:12
Nope.
ATX Halo
3:13
Read article about Eppler rebuilding Halos, how long till we see some results on the worst farm team in MLB?
Jeffrey Todd
3:13
Unless they start trading MLB assets, it'll take a while.
Chase
3:13
As a Laywer by trade, are you excited to see Bud Selig start the Sports Law and Business program at ASU. I am, but I am an ASU Law and MBA student.
Jeffrey Todd
3:14
I dont know man, the law is kind of boring even when it relates to sports.
Enquiring minds want to know
3:14
So is the free agent prediction contest over now that Morneau is out to midseason?
Jeffrey Todd
3:15
I was going to ask Tim about this, and will do that. It has encountered technical difficulties all along, which sucks. Going to revamp it for the future, I suspect.
Otto
3:15
Being from Denver, you are WELL aware of how we feel about the Monforts.....any chance they will sell? I know they have a license to print money with Coors field, but they hold onto the money like a fist full of glue while the fans (sheep) get screwed over every year
Jeffrey Todd
3:16
O
Whoops
That was a typo.
What I was going to say is, I'm from the D.C. area originally, where we have a certain NFL franchise owned by a certain Daniel Snyder.
3:17
I don't expect either to release their grip any time soon, so may as well settle in and deal with it. Best thing you can do if you are unhappy is to vote with your wallet.

I believe they should oullaw the shift in major league baseball to many hits are being taken away and it the ball is hit in the outfield it should be a hit
Jeffrey Todd
3:17
Chalk lines dividing the IF positions and chalk circles in the OF.
Somehow that seems like a bigger intrusion than the shift, which is a perfectly acceptable strategy in my book.

3:18
good job on braves review.... Do you see wisler advancing in big league action
Jeffrey Todd
3:18
Thanks! I'm no scout, but the numbers really weren't promising last year.
Yaakov

Jeffrey Todd
3:18
