Where? Uribe is a sturdy option at third, but he won't play every day. Ramirez will get plenty of time, but I don't see why he'd just take over for Uribe barring a huge fall-off.
Lucroy
4:16
Where was I going in that last Braves, Astros, Brewers three team trade?
Jeffrey Todd
4:16
I'd assume Houston. Man, that would've been fun.
Bobby Evans
4:17
Should I trade Christian Arroyo (#1 prospect in SF fan system) since there's no opening on the infielder for the foreseeable future?
Jeffrey Todd
4:17
That's not the best reason to be pulling the trigger on a deal. It isn't like he's been knocking on the door for 2 years and is a wasting asset. There could still be opportunities -- let's see how Panik and Duffy hold up.

4:18
werth-- comeback player of the year?
Jeffrey Todd
4:18
I could see it. Dude put up huge numbers in '13-'14.
Michael
4:19
Was Keuchel a one-year wonder?
Jeffrey Todd
4:19
Which one, the 200-inning, sub-3.00 ERA year or the 232-inning, sub-2.50 ERA season?
I totally had those stats memorized, btw. (Not really)
Steve
4:20
How soon till the Cubs give Contreras his shot?
Jeffrey Todd
4:20
Don't see how it happens this year barring injury or a massive underperformance from Montero. But if you are interested in him, be sure to listen to today's podcast with John Baker. He loves the kid (no surprise), had interesting observations.
Michael
4:21
Will Albert Pujols ever replicate any success he had in St. Louis with the Angels?
Jeffrey Todd
4:22
That's just a problem of expectations. He is doing what you'd expect an old, once-amazing player to do. He's still good, just not PUJOLS.
So, in a way, yeah, he is replicating the success, in a different way. But replicate the bottom-line productivity? Hell no.
Michael
4:23
Will Carlos Gonzalez ever be traded?
Jeffrey Todd
4:23
I think he will be eventually -- this summer or after the season.
Michael
4:24
NL and AL MVP award predictions?
Jeffrey Todd
4:24
Kershaw single-handedly carries the Dodgers to a pennant (so far as public perceptions are concerned) and Mike Trout is Mike Trout
Jonathan
4:24
Do you think Matt Bush will make his way to the majors this year and make an impact for the Rangers?
Jeffrey Todd
4:26
Seems much more plausible now than it might have before. When they say spring training doesn't matter, that always comes with lots of caveats. And when you are not only lighting up the gun but are keeping quality MLB hitters off balance with offspeed pitches, and you're throwing strikes, that creates an opening. I mean, I'm sure they saw all this before, but seeing it happen against real big league hitters in game action had to have some action.
Steven
4:26
Do you think the Mets' rotation tires down the stretch? A lot of young arms with postseason innings tacked on.
Jeffrey Todd
4:26
I do think it's a big issue for that club to watch. They'll have to be judicious with innings whenever possible and hope Wheeler comes back.
Daniel
4:28
Will the Rockies moving the fences back be much of a factor?
Jeffrey Todd
4:29
In making for even crazier ballgames, yes, it will. Evan Gattis would have a field day running out triples if he were still playing in the N.L.
Spencer
4:30
Do you see Alejandro De Aza or Juan Lagaras being traded to the indians?
Jeffrey Todd
4:30
Not really. $$$$$$$$
Kris
4:30
When is a good time to look at draft prospects and see where scouts have them ranking?
Jeffrey Todd
4:31
If you are really interested in the stuff, I'd be looking to read up on it and watch some college games on TV in person. That would make it interesting. If you are just kind of wanting to know more about what to expect on draft night, you can probably safely wait until just beforehand.
Chipper
4:32
Are you planning on a visit to the Ted on Chipper-Freddie Bobblehead Night? Might be the highlight of the year in the ATL...
Jeffrey Todd
4:32
No, but I went there once years back. Mike Cameron flipped off some obnoxious fans sitting next to my dad and I.
4:33
And the highlight will be the debut of [insert whichever exciting prospect actually gets a mid-season shot]
Michael
4:33
Weren't the Astros cheated with that Ken Giles trade?
Jeffrey Todd
4:34
They know the arms they gave up better than anyone, so obviously they see the value. And if you really think about it in terms of value, how much would it cost on the open market to buy 5 years of Giles? (Not 5 guaranteed years, but like 5 consecutive options - even better.) Probably quite a bit. I'm sure they ran the math!
Mike
4:35
What do you think caused the Orioles wild spending spree this off-season? Huge jump in payroll over last year. Do you think this is a one time thing, or is Angelos back to playing w/the big boys like the mid-late 1990's?
Jeffrey Todd
4:37
Man, good question. To some extent, I do think they were nudged in that direction when Wieters took the QO. Maybe Angelos doesn't feel like pocketing the MASN spoils and wants to see the club win now. It's hard to say whether it will go back to being like it was back when I followed the club in the timeframe you reference, but they are committed to trying to win at least for a few more seasons.
Or, they'll really have to pull the rug out from under fans by shedding contracts.
Brian
4:37
If Tejada hits well to start the season best guess on Peralta's future in St. Louis?
Jeffrey Todd
4:38
Ruben probably isnt going to unseat Peralta, but if he's playing well you can take more time bringing the latter back.
Dougy
4:38
How many wins would a 35 and over All-Star team win in the regular 162 game season?
