This has to happen. Sort of a reverse expansion team.

4:39
Carlos Quentin and Ryan Sweeney getting looks from other teams if they dont make the twins roster
Jeffrey Todd
4:39
Maybe? But Twins wouldn't get anything in return - more likely they'd get released to pursue another opportunity.
Andrew
4:39
Will the Phillies take on a bad contract in exchange for some talent? Weaver or Wilson come to mind. Who would be the talent coming to philly?
Jeffrey Todd
4:40
Klentak already gutted the Halos system when he snagged Featherston.
Jokes! (Mostly.)
But yes, the Phillies are better situated than any other team to do that sort of deal, if an opportunity arises.

4:41
How would you grade my first offseason with the Brewers?
Jeffrey Todd
4:42
I don't think it's even worth trying to grade the specific moves, as in, "was [trade x] a good trade?" There seems to be a positive vibe, he's created competition among young players at multiple positions, and the organization has built up its volume of potentially useful future assets.
So, it seems to be off to a good start.
4:43
Assessing his performance might be different if he had a lot of significant assets left to sell -- if, say, the Gomez/Fiers deal hadnt already happened.

4:43
Ruben Tejada the future ss or is he replacement level only?
Jeffrey Todd
4:43
Well, if those are my options, I'll take the latter. Also, he'll be a free agent. But he's probably a little bit better than replacement level, so have hope for 2016.

4:44
Should the Jays trade EE, JoeyBats now?
Jeffrey Todd
4:45
Dude, no way this happens. Can you imagine how the fans would take it, though? Well, I think.

4:45
Do you think the stros were trying to get lucroy and inciarte in that trade? Would the braves been able to land daz, or preston t if that were the case
Jeffrey Todd
4:46
Well, hard to see why it would've been a 3-team scenario in that case. Regardless, it would seem the Braves would be giving up the same asset (Inciarte), so I don't think that would impact the return.
And Inciarte is more valuable than those guys, in my view.

Look into your crystal ball.... what's Coppy's next mind blowing move?
Jeffrey Todd
4:47
Trading Freddie Freeman?
aj preller
4:47
After trading Fern Rodney, Andrew Cashner, Jon Jay, Derek Norris, and Alexei Ramirez at the deadline, the Padres will have a top 5 farm system in 2017. Crazy?
Jeffrey Todd
4:47
Wishful thinking
4:48
Wouldn't the team be in reasonable position to contend if all those guys were playing that well anyway?
Bob C.
4:48
First young arm to arrive in Braves rotation this year - if any?
Jeffrey Todd
4:48
Julio Teheran
4:49
Oh, okay ... I think Blair could be the guy to get his first call-up. Seemed to have at least some chance of forcing the issue during camp.
Matt E
4:49
Will we get to see Jurickson Profar play at all in the majors this year?
Jeffrey Todd
4:49
I think so, yeah.
Ryan
4:50
Derek Norris for Joey Gallo straight up. Who hangs up first?
Jeffrey Todd
4:50
Rangers. They probably hung up like a month ago, btw.
Ryan
4:51
Is Andrew Cashner QO worthy next offseason?
Jeffrey Todd
4:51
Certainly could be.
Matthew
4:51
Is anyone going to give a roster spot to Jesus Montero?
Jeffrey Todd
4:51
I'll guess no.
Concerned citizen
4:51
I know this is exceptionally trivial but what kind of return does chicago get for Olmos as the PTBNL-like what level?
Jeffrey Todd
4:52
Well, the alternative is usually a payment of like $20K (forget exactly), if that gives you an indication.

4:53
What's the over/under Trea Turner starts the season in Washington, given his competition, his MLB clock starting in '15 and his uneven play in ST?
Jeffrey Todd
4:53
Tough question. I'm going to put it at ... hmmm ... like 75.
I think there's a decent chance he doesn't get a real chance early.
4:54
But I am holding him in the MLBTR fantasy league just in case.
