Well, they are a big-market team, regardless of whether they spend like one. And that is also good reason to believe they will spend like one, because they have revenue opportunities that some orgs just don't. They've already boosted the payroll, obviously, and it should be interesting to see how it goes from here, once they have had a chance to cash in on this group a bit and as the Madoff scandle fades.

I would almost think of the teams as if they were players that signed early-career extensions. At the beginning of the deal, everyone adds it all up and talks about how big the guarantee is. By the end, it probably looks cheap.
