Is there any value in Brendan Morrow to a team like the Blue Jays for a bull pen piece considering the know him and he would be reasonably inexpensive?
Steve Adams
3:49
I'm sure some team will give him a minor league deal if he still wants to try to pitch. But no one's giving him a 40-man spot or counting on him in any way
Kade

Any center fielders you can see the Indians signing as a bargain?
Steve Adams
3:50
Bourjos, Fuld, Gentry ... someone along those lines just as a fourth OF type and depth option makes some sense. But Chernoff said they couldn't afford Rajai Davis for what he signed at ($6MM), so don't expect anything all that big.

Ketchup or Mustard?
Steve Adams
3:50
Mustard. Also, you're my go-to Mario Kart character. Thanks for joining.

where do you see sergeo romo signing?
Steve Adams
3:52
Mets, Dodgers, Nats, maybe the Cards could all stand to add a decent setup arm. Non-contenders with open 'pen spots make sense too, if he's taking a one-year deal or a cheap two-year pact. Twins, Reds, Padres, etc.

Worst overpay: Shelby Miller trade or Adam Eaton?
Steve Adams
3:52
Miller
3:53
Adam Eaton has five years of cheap control and is an extremely good player. Shelby had three years and was a good-not-great mid-rotation pitcher. Eaton's not going to be a six-win player every year, but he'll bring more value than Miller would have even he'd pitched well in Arizona.

Plus the D-backs dealt a player off their MLB roster (Inciarte) who was arguably more valuable than Miller on his own.
Peter Bourjos

Hey, I'm still available! Where do I land?
Steve Adams
3:54
My guess: Detroit
Duke

Brad Brach for JD Martinez?
Steve Adams
3:54
Doesn't really help the Tigers. They want controllable prospects, not a reliever who is a free agent in two years

If not Dozier, who do the Dodgers have play 2nd?
Steve Adams
3:55
They can always circle back with the Tigers and check in on Kinsler or call the Rays about Forsythe. Pirates would probably still move Harrison. Utley's still out there as well
Nate

Go back to Hoops Rumors and stay there!
Steve Adams
3:56
Wrong Adams. That's Luke Adams (no relation)
Though my brother Charlie Adams did write at Hoops Rumors for like two years.

Mariners reportedly looking for another reliever. Any chance Jerry Blevins is a fit?
Steve Adams
3:57
Maybe, but I'd think a cheaper right-handed reliever is a better option. They're another team that'd work for Romo. Could get someone like Yusmeiro Petit and bounce him between the fifth SP slot and the 'pen as well.

Hypothetically, how much trade value would someone like Tanner Roark have - a good player, yet not alot of name recognition
Steve Adams
3:59
Immense value. Name recognition doesn't mean anything in trades. People lost their minds when the Nats traded Giolito and Lopez for Eaton. But, I bet a lot of the detractors would've been fine or at least not questioned trading that pair for McCutchen, even though that would've been a far worse deal.
4:00
Fans care about name recognition -- teams not so much. Three years of Roark would come with a hefty asking price, even if he's not as good as his ERA from 2016 might indicate.

Stroman for Blackmon? Toronto could pick up a 4th or 5th starter via free agency!
Steve Adams
4:00
I'd take four years of Stroman over two of Blackmon.

Why is Adam Eaton so undervalued by so many people?
Steve Adams
4:01
I genuinely do not know. People salivate over prospect rankings pretty heavily these days, I suppose.

Favorite use of the potato: French Fries, Tater Tots or Loaded Potato Skins?

Are the halos done for the winter?!
Steve Adams
4:02
They can add around the fringes a bit more. Another bullpen arm and another option behind the plate are both reasonable expectations. I doubt they love the idea of Maldonado catching 100 games in 2017.
Halo
4:03
Any chance the halos sign Wieters for 1 plus option year contract?
Steve Adams
4:03
If he takes a one-year deal I'd imagine it'll be straight-up one year. No options attached. I'd imagine that Wieters at one year would command a lofty enough AAV that it'd put the Angels at risk of the luxury tax threshold, though.

Nats bullpen? Holland? Romo as u suggested? Who else possibilities
Steve Adams
4:04
Still really like them for Holland. They can offer a legitimate chance to grab the ninth-inning, and a contending club from day one. Plus Boras has a good relationship with Nats ownership
Hmm?
4:05
Who will provide the best value on their (presumably) lower than expected deal? Bautsita/Trumbo/Wieters/Saunders
Steve Adams
4:05
I'd bet on Bautista of that bunch
