I think they'll be in the same range. Power is up around the game and Trumbo still doesn't walk much and still plays terrible defense. He's younger, which helps, but Cruz also has more OBP skills.

Do Phillies offer Hellickson a QO?
Steve Adams
3:56
Yep
Brandon Moss
3:57
You said Joey would decline a QO, will I decline one as well?
Steve Adams
3:57
Moss would be likelier to accept. I don't think the Cardinals will make one, especially not with how he finished.
John
3:57
What creative moves can Eppler make if Moreno says no to going over the luxury tax?
Steve Adams
3:58
I'd have said to trade Calhoun for some of the pitching they so desperately need, but the core surgery doesn't help his value any. Could get weird and try to trade Andrelton for more than they got him for -- he did have a somewhat better season with the bat. Of course, there's less control now. They're in a really tough spot.
Mitch Moreland
3:59
Do I get a qualifying offer? Where can i look to play next year?
Steve Adams
4:00
No way. He'd accept in a heartbeat. Moreland's coming off a sub-.300 OBP, he's never been a 30-homer guy and he doesn't hit lefties. He's going to be competing with tons of guys just like himself -- Morrison, Lind, Moss to some extent (though Moss is better) ... I don't think he's going to get more than a one-year deal.
Go to Coors and rake for a year, Mitch! That's my advice to pretty much everyone in that group though, ha. It'll work out for one of them.

Has Ty Blach pitched his way into the 5th spot for 2017?
Steve Adams
4:02
I read someone recently -- can't remember who, because 90% of my waking life is spent reading baseball stuff -- say they love him and think he can be their No. 5 next season, yes. He's definitely been impressive, even though I wonder about his delivery a little bit. The strange stride makes me wonder how much effort he's putting on his shoulder to pick up momentum.
Bob
4:02
Kershaw over/under 3 runs today?
Steve Adams
4:03
Always under. He's the best pitcher on the planet, and I don't buy into the "He can't pitch in October" trope any more than I would if you told me Kershaw didn't know how to pitch on Mondays because he had the highest career ERA on those days of any day of the week. (I don't know if that's true, so pick your preferred day of the week for said analogy.)

Mallex, Markakis, Kemp, Inciarte... please rank these from most likely to be moved to least.
Steve Adams
4:04
Markakis, Kemp, Smith, Inciarte, but I really only think Kakes has a decent chance of going.
Don
4:04
What kind of contract do you expect Justin Turner to get?
Steve Adams
4:04
Way larger than most people would expect. Like $70MM+.
Bob
4:04
Dodgers could easily extend, but do they QO Jansen and Turner as strategy to control cost? Why else would they wait to open talks?
Steve Adams
4:05
They QO Jansen and Turner because they'd be fools not to. Both of those guys will crush one year and $16-17MM on the open market. They'll both make that or more annually on at least four-year deals.
Avisail Garcia
4:05
Is this the offseason the one the Sox finally give up on me?
Steve Adams
4:06
It should be. Then again, it should've been last winter, too. I don't know how they keep him around. Cut the cord and move on.
Michael
4:06
Surprised by the Sox's early exit in the playoffs?
Steve Adams
4:07
A little, but more just that it was a sweep. Anything can happen in a five-game series. You could've dropped the Phillies, Twins or Reds into a short series against a playoff team and had them win. The playoffs are a crapshoot.

Hello Steve!
Steve Adams
4:07
Oh god there's four of us? Three is enough.

Prediction for Matt Holliday?
Steve Adams
4:08
Some on the MLBTR staff like him for two years still. I'm more pessimistic and think he's going to end up taking a one-year deal somewhere... Maybe 1/12 or something to be someone's LF/DH. The overall production this season was above average but not great, and the glove is not looking good these days.

Does JJ Reddick make sense for the Jays in the offseason? How about Calhoun?
Steve Adams
4:10
JJ Redick is a shooting guard in the NBA. :) (Sorry, had to)

Josh Reddick or Kole Calhoun does make some sense, yeah, as they'll need corner guys with Saunders and Bautista possibly leaving. But I don't think they'd want to meet the price on Calhoun, which would surely be MLB-ready starting pitching, even with the surgery.
Bryce Harper

What was I doing differently this year that resulted in a down year?
Steve Adams
4:11
Playing through a shoulder injury that the team continues to weirdly deny?
4:12
Ok, that's going to do it for me this week. Jason will chat tomorrow night at 630pm CT, Jeff on Tuesday at 2pm. Thanks for chatting everyone, and feel free to hurl insults my way on Twitter: @Adams_Steve! Enjoy the rest of your week!
