Brian

What are the chances that Hwang makes the Giants opening day roster?
Steve Adams
4:33
I think that as long as he's not a total disaster in Spring Training, he'll make the roster.
Ross Atkins
4:34
What should I do in left field this year?
Steve Adams
4:35
Sign Angel Pagan to a cheap one-year deal and call it an offseason? That'd be my plan of attack there.
Bacon DumDum
4:35
Pick a Dodger to have a breakout season in 2017
Steve Adams
4:35
Obvious pick, I suppose, but Julio Urias?
AJ
4:36
Rays may actually want to add a second piece in a hypothetical Cron-for-Erasmo trade to free up a spot on the 40-man for LoMo
Steve Adams
4:36
Cedeno's more than a throw-in, though. He's a very useful left-handed reliever with multiple years of control remaining.
4:37
If they really need a spot they can just DFA some fringe piece like Beckham
Dave
4:37
Any chance the Rockies move an OF at this late date to free up a spot for Desmond, or is he really gonna play 1B?
Steve Adams
4:37
First base seems like the plan
Patty O'Furniture
4:38
Should somebody buy low on Matt Wisler?
Steve Adams
4:39
I don't know that the Braves would sell low on him. There's no real urgency for them to do so.
Pat
4:39
You think Brandon Phillips accepts a trade away from cincy
Steve Adams
4:39
He's shown no inclination toward doing so at this point.
Frank
4:39
Gerit Cole. Breakout season......or proof that he is a bust?
Steve Adams
4:40
Cole has a 3.23 ERA in nearly 600 MLB innings and posted 200+ innings in a five-win season as recently as 2015. Suggesting that he's anything close to a bust is utter insanity.
Connor
4:40
What do you think was the biggest surprise this offseason?
Steve Adams
4:40
Rockies paying $70MM and the top unprotected pick to play Ian Desmond at first base.
Reds Rally
4:41
Cody Reed, Robert Stephenson , Amir Garrett or all 3 make my starting rotation out of spring training
Steve Adams
4:41
Zero chance that all three do. I'd guess Reed or Stephenson get the first chance since both already have MLB service time.
Suitcase
4:42
What player(s) do you see benefiting from a change of scene?
Steve Adams
4:43
Drew Smyly's my consistent go-to answer for this ever since that trade. I think that as long as his shoulder doesn't give out, he's going to have a great season.
Andrew
4:43
Am I crazy for thinking the Yankees should've stayed away from Carter? He'll just take away at bats from the kids in a rebuild year.
Steve Adams
4:45
The Yankees aren't "rebuilding" just because they're giving some younger guys a chance. They're fully intent on contending, and the only one who might lose some significant playing time to Carter would seem to be Tyler Austin or maybe Aaron Hicks (if Holliday sees some time in the OF on days when Carter DHs). I don't know that either are core players moving forward anyhow, and adding value is adding value. Carter at $3MM is a nice pickup.
Totally Chipper Jones
4:45
Do you think Kershaw has a shot at 300 wins? Is he the last that will ever have a chance?
Steve Adams
4:46
He's not even half there, and he had serious back issues last season. Not saying he's going to break down, but I don't think we're going to see pitchers stay in games long enough and pitch often enough to reach that number moving forward.
Schroeder
4:46
Why would the Twins consider signing Morneau? Seems like a bone headed move.
Steve Adams
4:47
They're not really considering it. They talked to him and decided there wasn't a fit. They do want some kind of veteran voice in the clubhouse though.
4:48
Ok, I have to wrap up for the week. Jason's chatting tomorrow night at 6:30 CT, and Jeff should be back on Thursday after some recent traveling. Thanks for chatting everyone-- you can always follow up on Twitter: @Adams_Steve
