Steve Adams

And if all goes well in Oakland, Alcantara probably makes 2-3 starts before Gray comes back.
3:58
(I'm sure they'll use some off days early in the year to limit the amount of times Alcantara will need to take the mound)
2 first names

WE WANT JEFF!!!!
Steve Adams
3:58
Hey I sort of have two first names as well!

Opinion on Cleveland's chance to make the playoffs?
Steve Adams
3:58
I'll be flat-out stunned if they don't.

Will Mallex see much playing time with the Rays? He was fun to watch at times last year.
Steve Adams
4:00
I'd imagine he spends quite a bit more time in AAA than in the Majors, barring injuries. They'll want him playing every day not sitting on the bench while Rasmus, Kiermaier and Souza take up most of the ABs. Bourjos seems likely to be the fourth OF there

Does Castillo have any trade value left? If yes what could the Red Sox get for him?
Steve Adams
4:00
As in Rusney? He's pretty much never had any trade value.
And he certainly doesn't now.

Do rangers extend lucroy
Steve Adams
4:01
Doubt it -- I think he's looking at $100MM next winter with a typical Lucroy season.

Hey mate, does Cueto opt out after this season? I think he likes the Bay Area and kinda wants to stay, but then again money talks
Steve Adams
4:02
If he does anything close to what he did in 2016, he'll opt out. Even if he wants to stay, he'll opt out and try for a new deal with SF (or use the opt-out as a bit of leverage to try to get them to tack another year at a high rate onto his deal, as the Yankees did with CC several years back)
Park Byung Ho
4:02
Why am I cut?
Steve Adams
4:03
He's going by ByungHo now (which seems a bit odd, but it's his name and he can do as he pleases). And I doubt he stays in the minors long. It's just a 40-man technicality, I'd imagine.
Anthony
4:03
Any chance the Cardinals can swoop in for a front line starting pitcher early in the season?
Steve Adams
4:04
Those types of trades don't really happen early in the season. I suppose maybe it's a bit more possible this year since there's a very willing seller with a top-tier arm that is blatantly available (Quintana), but even still, that didn't expedite the Cole Hamels talks a few years ago. If there's a notable rotation trade coming for the Cardinals (or any team), the summer is the likely bet at this point.

Josh Bell hasn't hit a lick this spring. Talk about spring training stats aside is this a worry? Osuna has been ripping. Does Bell get a couple of weeks to get his groove back in AAA?
Steve Adams
4:06
Some mild concern, perhaps, just because he's coming off knee surgery. I could see him getting sent to Indy to get back up to full strength. Not like he's proven himself an MLB regular just yet
Randy
4:06
I have sent two questions but no response of yet
Steve Adams
4:07
A travesty if there ever was one.

I've received over 1,000 questions. Them's the breaks.
Cy Y
4:08
NL Cy Young this year: Clayton Kershaw or the field?
Steve Adams
4:09
Field -- back issues last year don't help Kershaw's cause. But I spent a lot more time debating that question than I initially thought when I read it!
Drew
4:09
If the Astros are out of it in July what could they get for Keuchal, Altuve, Correa, McCullers etc?
Steve Adams
4:09
If the Astros are out of it in July then many, many things have gone horribly wrong. And they till won't trade Altuve, McCullers or especially Correa (that last one's just nutty).
4:10
Altuve has two dirt cheap options for 2018-19, McCullers and Correa are controlled through 2021.
Chris
4:10
I have sent no questions and also received no response yet.
Steve Adams

SO YOU'RE NOW 1-FOR-1

4:11
Pagan has to go to the Jays, right?
Steve Adams
4:11
I mean, I've thought that makes sense and should happen for months and it still hasn't yet. Either they're not that interested or they just don't feel like he's enough of an upgrade to pay him anything more than a million or two, which he doesn't seem to want to go for

Joe Nathan , Ryan Howard, JRoll, Johan, cliff Lee... any of these guys EVER making it back into a big league team?
Steve Adams
4:12
Nathan I could see. I don't think Lee's even trying. Johan's been broken since 2012. Rollins looks out of steam but could maybe land one more cup of coffee. Howard could still be a bench bat, but doesn't seem like he even had much interest on minor league deals

Does the Molina deal get done, or will he be a FA? How much would said deal be for?
Steve Adams
4:14
I can see them agreeing to a three-year deal or something just before Opening Day. Honestly, I think the Yadi camp should take whatever the best offer is from the Cardinals, because they'll probably be willing to pay more than anyone else.

Molina's power has dropped off in the past three years, he'll be 35 in July, he threw out a career-worst 21% of runners last season... great a player as he was at his peak, I don't know that I'd be lining up to pay a catcher on a three- or four-year deal when he'll be 38 or 39 when it ends.
4:15
Especially since he seems to want to be paid, annually speaking, at a rate commensurate with the rest of the league's top catchers.
Dodger Dog
4:16
Jeffrey Todd has a way way high opinion of the breadth and depth of the Dodgers' rotation. Do you share that opinion?
Steve Adams
4:17
I think they're in fine shape -- Kershaw and Hill can pitch like true No. 1s when healthy, and I like Maeda quite a bit. McCarthy was one of the more intriguing arms in the game to me prior to his TJ, as he looked on the verge of a breakout after making some alterations. They've got better depth than most, and I've yet to even mention Julio Urias!

Sounds like Mancini is making the Os roster. I just don't see where they are planning on playing him?
