Bench bat and occasional DH/1B/outfielder, if he does? I'm not as high on Mancini as most O's fans seem to be. He's already 25, hasn't exactly dominated the minors, and is limited defensively. I think the fascination surrounding him is that he's a decent prospect in what has been a terrible system, but it's not like he's Cody Bellinger in terms of upside. Plus, I feel like the O's wouldn't have blocked him with Davis and Trumbo if they were truly sold on his potential.

After his great spring, if there's no room on the roster for Marrero, could he bring back any value in trade? Thanks Steve.
Steve Adams
4:21
Assuming that's Chris Marrero? Nah -- the big spring doesn't change the fact that he's never performed much elsewhere... if he gets moved it'll be a PTBNL/cash situation.

Who is the best reliever on the game
Steve Adams
4:22
It's tough to go wrong with any of Chapman, Jansen, Miller and Britton... I'd lean Miller then Britton as my top two, but I wouldn't put up a huge fight on any of the four.
Billy Bat Flips
4:23
Is Didi Gregorious a top ten SS?
Steve Adams
4:23
Yeah somewhere at the back end of the Top 10 seems right, without looking into it too terribly much

Will the rockies pitching surprise anyone?
Steve Adams
4:24
I really like Jon Gray, but I'm not as high on the rest of the staff as many seem to be. I do think this could still be the best starting group they've run out in quite some time

Can I regain my old dominant form?
Steve Adams
4:25
32, tons of injuries in his back pocket, playing on turf half the time... I'd bet against it. Think he's more of an above-average player than a superstar now, but he's so damn talented that I wouldn't rule it out altogether.

Just curious: are the writers here allowed to use whatever stats they want in their posts, or is there a guideline on which ones to use?
Steve Adams
4:26
We don't set any sort of mandate, but a lot of us look at the same types of numbers, generally speaking.
Terry Collins
4:26
Did I make the right choice with Zack Wheeler?
Steve Adams
4:27
I'd rather just see him in the 'pen with Lugo in the rotation to open the year. If you're going to limit Wheeler's innings, just do it by keeping him in one role instead of jostling him around when he's missed the past two years due to arm problems.

I know Dillon Gee is not a big name, but he has had a solid spring. If you're the Rangers, what would you do?
Steve Adams
4:27
Keep him and put him in a swingman role.
Mikey

Will Rookie Davis change his name to Veteran Davis in 5 years?
Steve Adams
4:29
I would support him changing his name on an annual basis.

Rookie Davis
Sophomore Davis
Super Two Davis
Arb 1 Davis
Arb 2 Davis
Arb 3 Davis
Just-signed-a-four-year-deal Davis

Etc.

(Also, that's a more optimistic outlook for Davis than I actually harbor, but I rolled with it for the sake of the terrible joke.)

Will Jeanmar Gomez hold on to the closer role for the Phillies or will someone like hector neris prove to be better suitable for the role?
Steve Adams
4:30
I wouldn't bank on Gomez holding it too terribly long. Neris and Edubray Ramos are the guys to watch.
Benoit, too, I suppose.
