Are the Dodgers really "in" on all these rumored trades (cutch, dozier, Solarte, Cain, Davis) and FAs (Jansen, Chapman, Bautista) or are they being used again as the boogeyman to drum up business for other clubs?

I'd expect they are really pursuing a lot of things. They have some openings, which gives some flexibility.

I'm not sure that works. What teams will want both those guys? I mean, I guess if Cron is just a throw-in then they could trade Shoemaker for a 2B. But it's hard to draw out of that rotation. Not sure I'm seeing it.

Because there wouldn't be much demand for Hardy, they'd stay neutral on D, and have to make a rather big FA gamble. In theory, yes, the team could do this kind of thing, but there's a reason we dont' typically see that kind of approach from anything but the biggest-market clubs.
(E.g., what the Red Sox are doing as we speak.)

Dozier? Doesn't make much sense to me. They will surely look at any longer-term additions that could be had, but otherwise aren't going to give up a ton of value. Willing to commit $ in short-term, not prospects to get 2 years of Dozier.
