,,about THEIR decision to make?
8:59
which means what?
Kasey
8:59
That the pool pH is not 6.8
AvatarGreg Miller
Ashli.. the sleep deprevation case is always a hit!
8:59
...and in context.. this means?
Kasey
8:59
For Ha because we have seen a rare event

Ashli Owens

I think my brain is misshaped from sleep deprivation!
AvatarGreg Miller
8:56
So.. your conclusion when n=16 is.... what?
8:54
Atta gal... good.
Kasey
8:54
yes -3.333 isn't even on the chart so then if we multiply .005 by 2 we get .01
AvatarGreg Miller
8:53
Can you see/reason that the one-sided p-value is less than .005?
8:52
So you would pull the p value from the t chart then multiply it by two? Or do you do it before?
8:51
pull the one sided p-value from the chart and multiply THAT by two... never multiply by 2 beforehand..
Kasey
8:51
So you would pull the p value from the t chart then multiply it by two? Or do you do it before?
AvatarGreg Miller
8:47
I typed the response before I let your question in.. sorry
Kasey
8:46
right?
8:42
ok so when we have two sided we have to 2 times p!
cool 1
AvatarGreg Miller
8:42
two times the "one sided p-value"...yes
8:41
all those phrases you wrote mean the same thing...
Kasey
8:40
When we have Ha is not equal two... this is not two-sided it's just different from right?
AvatarGreg Miller
Ha: mu not equal to 6.6.....that's two sided
8:40
"two sided" is the same as "different from"...
Kasey
8:31
oh me. no wonder my brain hurts. I feel like those volunteers in the no sleep chamber! lol

AvatarGreg Miller
8:29
Right. but sometimes I've assigned ya'll two a night.. the spring semester it was two per week MAX.. mostly 1.
Kasey
8:29
yep! it takes me hours to do a single practice case.  I usually only get one done while on the chat with you then I have to do the other by myself!
AvatarGreg Miller
8:28
Mindreader...
Kasey
8:28
k now I got t= -3.3333
trophy 1
AvatarGreg Miller
8:28
t = -3.33
8:27
Again.. it's a lot... during regular semester students work on a single practice case for 3-4 days each
Kasey
8:27
this is why I ask because I know I miss stuff
AvatarGreg Miller
8:27
Yes.. I've  had that happen with students many times... the forget it's "s divided by root of n"
Kasey
ok s divided by square root of n
cool 1
8:26
divide! that's what I did yesterday too!!!! I think I wrote it down originally and now it's stuck in my head that way!
AvatarGreg Miller
the denominator is "s over the sqrt(n)"
8:26
.6 DIVIDED by 4 = .15 for the bottom
