Once the populations are numbered.. there is a SINGLE correct statement for Ha.. and it's based entirely on the desire of the research issue in the case

There's always a correct answer there... now.. if you and i reverse what we call "Population 1" and "Population 2", then those directions would change.. but that's the only liberty you have.

I was looking over the breaks case and I noticed I put the wrong sign for Ha.  The sad thing is I know I spent some time trying to determine if greater than or less than went there.  Is this just up to interpretation or is there always a correct answer there.

So I pooling cases like case 3 we would just calculate s for both then pool them?
AvatarGreg Miller
You may be given s.. you may not.. should be prepared to handle it either way

I'm fine.. there's always a time to begin and end.. so I get it!

Hi Dr. Miller! How are you tonight?  I’ve enjoyed this class but I’m ready for it to be over, no offense.  It was fast and furious! For cases like case 3 and the breaks case will we always be given s or will we possibly have to calculate both s’s, for x and y before we pool them.
