Is this who I am?  If so, that Kramer guy might be decent, no?
nubyjas wilborn
1:04
shouldn't you be stretching?
Dave

We need more help from starters and middle relievers, but any thoughts on taking a shot on Rodney?
nubyjas wilborn
1:06
who?
Cody

It seems like the next 4 series are going to influence the direction this team chooses to go in regards to buying or selling. 7 vs MIL & 7 vs ATL. If they can stay at or above .500 I’d hope they would make a move to add, especially with where the payroll sits and having a wild card spot in striking distance. I feel like having that record mid-June with all the injuries they’ve sustained is a major win. And you’d have to assume a lot of the injured guys would be returning to major league action soon.

If the team can somehow stay afloat the front office would owe it to the players, coaching staff, and the city to try to improve the team.

Fernando Rodney

He has a 9.42 ERA and is 42 years-old, do you think he'd be an improvement? I don't see it.

Is Jung ho Kang’s translator cool?

Geoffrey is a nice guy. This is his first job in baseball and as an interpreter. He's learning the game and growing.

It would just be nice to acquire an inning-eating arm who has some upside potential. Someone who has probably struggled but can start a game and we don’t have to hold our breaths every pitch like with Brault or Kingham.

1:12
You say that. And then other fans would call it a dumpster dive. I'm not sure if he has much left. I like him as a person, though.
1:13
ah, @cody, my fault, I thought you were talking about Rodney. Yeah, the Pirates could use another starter.

On Fernando Rodney, I have admittedly not watched Oakland once, but his game log has the appearance of a number of very bad outings but some clean ones with Ks in there too. Maybe a change of scenery does it, but you are probably right. And if Kela can return to form, then at least in theory our backend of the bullpen is a strength again. How we get there on the other hand...
nubyjas wilborn
1:13
Kela getting back right is essential.
1:16
Anyone else?
Bob's Burghers
1:16
Who is Hurdle's most trusted mentor? Would that person please tell Clint to stop batting Tucker 8th.
nubyjas wilborn
1:16
Where should he hit?

Last call!!

How close is JT Brubaker to getting back healthy? Also, would really like to see the pirates trade Marte at some point this season over Dickerson. Thoughts on that?
nubyjas wilborn
1:21
no timetable, but we've been told his progress is steady. And you'd have to tell more about your rationale
1:26
Personally, I don't believe the Pirates *have* to trade either one. What's wrong with having some outfield depth?
Don Orris
1:27
Why was Brink pulled off the Pirates coverage of the games?
nubyjas wilborn
1:28
He wasn't pulled. Brink wanted and has earned a new challenge. I loved working with Bill. I learned a lot working with him and he'll be missed on the beat. But he's still with the P-G...
1:29
On that note, I'm getting out of here for the day. Thank you all for coming on and chatting. It's been a pleasure getting to converse with each of you. Take of yourselves and each other, Until next time...
