Have you heard if anybody within the organization has expressed any doubts about the coaching of pitchers in the last couple of years. It seems as if the magic may be gone, with the exception of Lyles' surprising return to top form.

What about Crick, or Burdi (before his injury), what about Trevor Williams?
Jim
12:34
Has baseball got to the point when a guy who hits 2 home runs in the same game against you..that you do not attack that batter in a different manner..maybe try to knock him down or pitch around him?
nubyjas wilborn
12:34
one would think so...
Justin
12:36
Should we be starting to question the team's medical staff at this point?  Or do you feel the insane # of injuries have just been bad luck?
nubyjas wilborn
12:38
I think it's too early to judge that. And I don't know the answer, but I've covered pro/college sports for 10 years and I've never seen a team have this many injuries in such a short amount of time.

Could the pirates be interested in kuechel now that he’s open to a one year deal for $18 million?
nubyjas wilborn
12:38
Maybe, but so would about 10 other teams...
SalemPirate
12:41
Problem with retaliating against a home run hitter would be first of all a Pirates pitcher couldn't hit him and if he somehow did he'd probably be ejected causing more pitching problems.
nubyjas wilborn
12:42
They aren't that bad, lol! But that said, an ejection would be rough for the Pirates at this point.
Jim
12:42
There is another item with Keller.
nubyjas wilborn
12:43
is there a question here?
SalemPirate
12:43
Top notch chat today. You handled it well. Thanks.
nubyjas wilborn
12:43
thank you!

Could the pirates have a legitimate chance of getting kuechel amongst those 10 other teams you say could be in on him now because of the deal?
nubyjas wilborn
12:45
If they make a legit offer and he feels the Pirates have a chance to win. Keep in mind it would take a few weeks for him to be ready to pitch in a game. Can the Pirates tread water enough for his return to matter?
Jim
12:45
perhaps he should have learned all of his pitches in the lower minors instead of Indy. Minor League has to have a priority of teaching even though everyone wants to win.
nubyjas wilborn
12:46
Pitchers constantly evolve, there are tons of stories of pitchers adding a pitch well into their big league career. Ask Trevor Williams and Jamo about this.

He’s been pitching sim games over the past couple months and maybe big joe could talk to him maybe who knows
nubyjas wilborn
12:49
who?

the paternity test is conclusive: derek dietrich is our dad now
nubyjas wilborn
12:52
make sure he leaves you a gold chain in the will.

Dallas Kuechel i read it this morning
nubyjas wilborn
12:53
yeah, but who is hitting against him in these sim games. Joe has openly advocated for him. But it'll still take time.

Any chance of getting this game in? Even if it were to be a 7:05 start. Reds are off tomorrow and Pirates only have to go back to Pittsburgh.
nubyjas wilborn
12:55
Seems like there is a window. But IDK if they'll want to go as late as 7:05 start, the Pirates have another trip there. It'd be easier to bang it and get the Pirates back home early as possible to prepare for the Brewers.

How low does Tucker's BA need to drop before we see Kramer called up?
nubyjas wilborn
12:55
I have a feeling he'll be up as long as glove plays well.

Do you regret taking a job to cover a beat that has such a psychopathic fanbase and hear the same things over and over again?
nubyjas wilborn
12:57
I get paid a fairly decent wage to travel the country and write about baseball. I'm very thankful. Tbqh most of the fans I interact with are good people, they're just upset.

I see Kang is going to see some playing time at SS @ AAA. Is 2B also an optionm
nubyjas wilborn
12:57
I haven't heard that, but at this point with the Pirates anything is possible.
Bob's Burghers
12:57
Were you surprised to see Keller sent back to AAA after one start?
nubyjas wilborn
12:58
Kind of, I thought he earned another, However, Neal hinted that this would happen.
ke'bryan mays hayes
12:58
AL teams have hilariously bad production from first base for whatever reason. Any rumblings that the team would shop Will Craig to a club willing to gamble on him at the Major League level?
nubyjas wilborn
12:59
I haven't heard any, but he's having a great year in Class AAA and is obviously "blocked" by Bell. However, if keeps on performing maybe he can pull an Austin Riley and learn another position than his preference.

When will the pirates sign Jamo to a long term deal?
nubyjas wilborn
1:03
He's gotta get healthy first...

Which players gets the most laughs in the clubhouse?
nubyjas wilborn
1:03
Good question. I'd say Trevor.
