I know Estrada looks up to Wilmer as well

Better pay and meal money and living conditions absolutely, but now the players are clotting up the system.  There needs to be more Major League Teams.

Don’t forget Thairo
Frank Novak

This is why I feel Villar could be on the move. Wilmer can bridge the gap to the next Villar (which probably is Sean Roby, injured at AA)
9:23
right. Wilmer has mentored Thairo big time. And that work isn’t done. Estrada is probably close to his ceiling but might not be quite there

I could be way off but I imagine Z has hundreds of trade scenarios in mind. It’s very hard to find the perfect partner. But when it happens and he is getting the value he likes in return, he presses go with the trade. But very few work out perfectly.

Oh I’m sure he wakes up at night with trade ideas. I probably could give you 5 and I don’t even work there.

I feel like this year will be more of a need for need deadline rather than being an overtly seller or buyer
9:27
Ha ha about you working there
Frank Novak
9:27
I imagine we see some of both, or very little, depending on the greater market

Too soon to tell but the chatter has begun
Frank Novak

I do think there may be some mid to late June action
Mainly from KC

Just got home and going to cook dinner. Thanks for trying the chat Frank. It’s kinda
fun
Frank Novak
9:28
yeah thanks, been wanting to experiment with it
These many posts rapid fire would never work on the blog comment section

Yes KC is the most obvious seller but it seems most GMs wait till the last minute to see if they can do even better
Alan Caras
9:29
I agree.  Disqus seems to be an issue

last season we saw the Royals offload Carlos Santana to Seattle in mid June. That was really the first deal of the trade season. Perhaps they’ll look to get out in front again. Hearing rumblings - from within the walls.
9:34
There’s an urgency to improve there and not waste the controllable seasons of a couple of their good players like Bobby Witt Jr, Vinny Pasquantino and Nick Pratto. But they are painfully short on arms.

Our blogs are enriched by your "insider" experience.

Well I appreciate that. I do still talk to a few folks still entrenched in the game. But I also do quite a bit of just plain reading the tea leaves. My intuition knowing the game points me at correct assumptions reasonably often. I still see myself a student of the game even though I’m no longer drawing a paycheck from it.

Any chance you might go back to it?
Frank Novak

Well I’m gonna wrap this up for tonight since it’s quiet but I for sure will do this again
