Usually the first hour and the last hour of the trading day is when we see the most volume of the day... that means more volatility as well.

I've started to see that in this volatile market, 2pm is trigger time. I've recently given up good profits by not closing prior to 2pm. Almost clockwork lately.

If you get nervous and buy back your short leaving your long in place. The market keeps moving in same direction and your long is ITM. Do you need to sell your long before day end or does it cash settle like the short would?
