People belittle Tomlin's never losing seasons, but when I see Cleveland, with a completely stacked roster with top draft picks and top free agents, under .500 I can't help to think it is even a bigger accomplishment. Do other fans ever look around what happens to other teams? What's your opinion?

I think it is a great accomplishment. Without playoff success what does it mean? As I’ve said, he has become Marty Schottenheimer with a Super Bowl ring

Why did Tomlin stubbornly stick with Green as long as he did? I know that swapping out one player did not make all the difference Monday night but JC looked much, much better.

Hi Paul- Any idea what is going on with WVU football and the mass exodus of players (29) within the last year? The culture under NB seems to be in question, along with his inability to beat any teams with a winning record.

He would be an upgrade over Rudolph. He is too much Phil Rivers for me - an extremely talented passer who never seems to win and never seems to play big at the games biggest moments

Given the strong ratings for the Rose Bowl and fiscal success, why would they or the B10/Pac12 ever give up that New Year's day slot (my understanding is the Rose Bowl owns the time slot and prevents the playoffs from playing semis on New Year's)?  Could the CPC make the Rose a permanent semi final?

They can’t by contract do that. But the fact that they have given in to the Rose Bowl is absurd. The playoff games should be New Year’s Day

Thanks for the chats PZ.  Let me first say that the taunting penalty in the NFL is ridiculous but I get we live in the "i don't want to get my feelings hurt world".  Having said that how do you not call a penalty on TJ when he was pointing at and mocking Baker?  Again I think the rule is horrible but when it comes to taunting not sure it gets better than that!

That’s the problem with the penalty - it is totally subjective and can be applied at the whim of an official. That is wrong

Hi Paul, just wanted to say that I love reading your chats and appreciate your realistic perspective. My question is if you think it's possible for the penguins to jettison the salaries of Zucker and kapanen so that we can resign rust, Rodriguez long term(plus letang and malkin)?

That is going to be tough because those two guys have submarined their value on the open market. That being said Rodrigues has to be a priority. The guy is a goal scorer and really good at pulling the trigger

In the lead up to CTE agreements between the league & players, it was revealed that the NFL was conducting experiments into brain damage by putting helmets on dogs & throwing them down elevator shafts. Q.) In order to study the brains the dogs would have had to be living when this was done, right? Sick!

Probably the same way the Steelers will - sign a Mariota type, maybe draft one and go forward next year with Rudolph or the new veteran as the starter and let the rookie learn for a year

Paul, with all the talk about guys like Juju, Haden and some others not likely to return, what do you think of D. Watt’s future with the Steelers?  I believe he is still under contract, but it seems his value doesn’t warrant his salary.  Thanks Paul.
