If Tuitt had played this season, how much better realistically would the run defense have been?
Zeise
1:18
He would have helped but I’m not sure he solves most of their major issues. They couldn’t stop the run so he would have helped but their LBs missed tackles and despite having as many sacks as they did - meaning pressuring the QB wasn’t an issue - they still gave up too many big plays in the passing game

So now that TJ is signed long term, the Steelers can part ways with Derek right?
Zeise
1:19
Ha ha. Nope, never! He is worth it for his special teams play right? Lol (I’m joking)

With all signs pointing towards Big Ben retiring, why hasn't he made it official? Could he still be unsure, and if so, do you see him playing for another team?
Zeise
1:20
No it isn’t out of the ordinary to take some time and reflect and get away from some of the emotions of it

Tomlin has become such a conundrum.  Obviously, he has some great skills.  And yet, he also obviously has some very significant deficiencies that are holding this team back.  His hiring of Klemm was an unmitigated disaster.  His hiring of Canada was suspect.  His pronouncements about Devin Bush and Kendrick Green right after they were drafted have aged terribly.  At what point does ARII intervene and say something like “You’re our guy for head coach, but it’s time to see clear progress in terms of better coaching and better personnel decisions.”

I honestly don’t know that day will get here. The Steelers way is to brag about having three coaches for 50 years or whatever

Hey, Paul.  IMHO, it will be best for both Tomlin & the Stillers if he left.  He would immediately get a fresh start as HC with another team, and the franchise will get a desperately-need new perspective.  Of course, I think about McCarthy (now Dallas' problem), and how he was fired.  But, at that time, McCarthy's offense was years behind the curve, he lost the team, and most-important --- Rodgers divorced him late season.  Nothing of the kind has happened to Tomlin (Canada's offense aside).  Is this correct?

Again I just don’t think Art is going to make a move. He believes they are a playoff team so they aren’t that far away!

Hi Paul.  Any chance Louis Riddick would be considered for Kevin Colbert’s job if the Steelers don’t promote from within?  Thank you.
Zeise

God let’s hope not

Paul - Loved your answer last week about Championship Sunday and your tradition.  What match-ups are  you hoping to see?
Zeise
1:24
I want to see the obvious - Mahomes vs Burrow and Brady vs Rodgers. I know people have fatigue of Mahomes and Brady but I love watching them play
Reality Check
1:24
Louis Riddick claimed... this year... recently... that Claypool is known for his tough winning of 50/50 catches... Next.
Zeise
1:24
Yeah, that’s a sentiment that aged well ha ha
Louis Riddick

Did you know Paul I am the smartest man in the room? I am. I really truly am.

Well at least one of us thinks that

Paul, any posters here who want to see Lou Riddick the GM of the Steelers, have them take a look a the the GM the Raiders just fired after 3 years.  Mayock or something similar.  He was a BIG media guy.
Zeise
1:26
And unlike Riddick he was a “media personnel expert” who studied and graded the draft and prospects and whatnot

Hi Paul, thanks for your time.  Since the Rooney/s don't pay attention to what's happening to the team do the OTHER owners voice their feelings on the way this organization is degrading its history in front of everyone ?
Zeise
1:26
i have actually heard the other owners are growing restless with some of the things that have gone on and some of the way things are done

I believe freiermuth’s three concussions in one year is a bit concerning.
Zeise
1:28
Absolutely. That is not a good sign for the future

With so many holes on this team does it make any sense to invest a large amount of cap space, or trade capital, on a QB?
Zeise
1:29
I think you invest in the team and try and draft a quarterback this year or next

Will the Pirates lose over 100 games again this season? I say yes.
Zeise
1:29
Based on the roster I’m looking at? Absolutely
Robert
1:30
Is it accurate to say Ben, Colbert, and Tomlin achieved their individual goals and left the cupboard bare?
Zeise
1:30
In some respects yes. Bare is not accurate though as there are three legit superstars on defense and Harris and Johnson on offense but I’m not in love with the roster

Paul, based on his production, why would any NFL team desire to have the ancient old QB #7 as their QB in 2022.  I don't see it.  They can't be than blind.  What say you?
Zeise
1:31
None will or would. He is done

Hi Paul, great chats! I believe BB stayed two years past his retirement, mostly because of his huge ego. And, the Steelers gave him room on that decision because of his past performance, not his abilities at the time.  To me, the problem with that was that he was the QB. E.g., I would've forgiven the Pirates for letting Clemente play beyond his years (assuming he had lived) because his position wasn't a critical one to a team winning. Not the case with BB.  Your thoughts? Thx!
Zeise
1:32
I think the Steelers spent the last four years trying to recapture some sort of glory with Roethlisberger and ended up making a lot of bad personnel decisions based on a pipe dream

Was Adrian Klemm a good player whose skills didn’t translate into coaching? Did he have a previous successful coaching background?
Zeise
1:34
He apparently is a very good recruiter which means he is back where he should be - in college

1:34
Hello the Real Zeise. Do the Steelers go QB in round 1, or do they go OL? How does the '23 QB draft class look, as I have to say I'm concerned about Mason and Dwayne.
Zeise
1:34
As I’ve said they should go OL
