Well Ben Cherrington said that they are trying to add more good players so call it what you want. If you know and understand the plan, you probably view it more positively

Wow the Steelers schedule next season looks brutal!  Hard to see this team competing for a playoff bid unless some serious changes are made.  Can this team "retool" once again or is it time for a rebuild?
Zeise
1:08
I think retooling will be tough. They are going to have to strip it down some - maybe not a full rebuild but a significant rebuild - in order to put themselves back on track to being a Super Bowl team

Can you ever see Ben becoming a coach? Maybe an OC? He could draw plays in the dirt.
Zeise
1:09
Lol, drawing plays in the dirt. No, I don't think Ben Roethlisberger would want to put the time into coaching. He will spend time with his family, maybe coach like his kids high school teams and retire quietly and peacefully

Do you think that the rather sluggish free agent market and the fact that virtually every mid western team is selling off players will lead the mlb players union to do some soul searching and at least consider a leveler playing field. I mean there are only so many spots on the ten teams that pay big money
Zeise

You would hope. But as long as the Scott Boras crowd is in he union's ears, it is never going to happen, a salary cap I mean.

the steelers should trade down or even out of first rd. If they dont, take an ot,dl,ilb in that order.at least 8 ot that are 1st or 2nd rounders. heyward getting long in the tooth, cant go into season with williams at ilb!
Zeise
1:11
I don't agree with that at all, They should trade up and try to get a left tackle

When did the offsides rule change? It used to be that a defender could go way over the line of scrimmage and as long as he didn’t touch anyone on offense and got back onside before the ball was snapped, he was ok. Now they whistle it immediately.
Zeise
1:11
I don't know that it has changed. If you cross the line and the ball is snapped or if you cross the line and make one of the offensive linemen move, it is neutral zone infraction

I don't want to extend dead money but feel this team has a better shot with Ben and some sort of running game.  plus you might have a little "do it for Ben" mentality like we saw with Bettis?
Zeise

I think they are done winning Super Bowls with Ben. And that to me means it is time to move on and start the rebuild process now.

Hi Paul.. any idea if and when ACC Network and Comcast reach an agreement ?  Thanks Paul.
Zeise
1:12
No but they absolutely need to because it is absurd we don't get the ACC network here

Signing Haskins on a cheap deal to compete with Mason and eventually the starter in 2 years seems like a no brainer to me. Some people regarded him as the best QB in that draft talent wise so why not give it a shot?
Zeise

Again, kicking the tires on players is never a bad thing

seriously paul, why does anyone go to pirate games and waste their money on this garbage ?????????

Do you think the delay in hiring an OC has anything to do with waiting for  Ben to decide for sure whether he’s coming back and what he wants if he does?
Zeise
1:14
According to Gerry Dulac they want to hire their offensive line coach first

Paul, do you take a running back or offensive lineman in the first round of the upcoming draft?  Any favorite players or sleepers you want the Steelers to select?  Enjoy the chats.  Thanks.
Zeise

I’ve said all along - left tackle is the most important need they have
