paul, with all the steeler needs do you think its wise to draft a qb no matter who it is, or do you think with all the cap money get a veteran qb and draft for o line picks and d line picks ?
Zeise
12:37
If I were them if AND ONLY IF the quarterback they like the most is on the board when they draft at 20, I would take him, let Rudolph/Haskins play this year while the new quarterback essentially gets a redshirt season and learns
Kris L.

Paul, hate to say it, but that Starkey dude could have done a MUCH better job making my case for the HOF.  It's a no-brainer - and he somehow made it sound like a long shot. I'll be looking for others to step up and improve on this lame effort.
Zeise
12:46
Like I said - you need more major awards and accolades on your resume .Yo have time and you can still get there but you don't have quite enough hardware to be a slam dunk
Bernard
12:46
So did Hue Jackson just incriminate himself with his comments he got paid extra to purposely lose as Browns coach?
Zeise
12:46
He claims he didn't want any parts of it. Which is hilarious because it means he just sucked as a head coach
Omar & Brandon
12:46
Paul, what you think of this potential power sharing arrangement being floated about? Is this another one of those lame schemes to save a few bucks on the upper management compensation budget?
Zeise
12:47
I don't like it. Too many chefs spoil the oup. Make Omar the director of operations - and let Art Rooney just sort of be an overseer - and then let Brandon Hunt work under him as the general manager. It is a much better plan
Bernard
12:47
Would love your thoughts on Flores firing.  He had a losing record, alienated his QB and other players, there was mass turnover on his staffs and he openly clashed with GM (who is African American) over the QB and other personnel moves. Not making any comments on Black coaches generally or the Rooney Rule, but is racism really playing a role in this instance?
Zeise
12:48
Again, the Rooney Rule stuff and discrimination lawsuit is just a smoke screen. He was fired by a black general manager for a very simple reason - he didn't want to tie his future to the first round pick quarterback - Tua -  that the organization was committed to. That happens all the time to coaches of all colors
12:49
I don't think there isn't merit to some of the issues he has brought up but he was fired for a simple reason - he didn't see eye to eye with his boss
Bernard
12:49
What are your thoughts on B10 eliminating divisions and playing 8 conf games?  As a Buckeye, I love the idea b/c the West division blows and I'm tired of tOSU, Mich, PSU, etc watching Northwestern, Wiscy and Iowa in the conf champ game.
Zeise
12:50
I think going to eight games is good but I don't like eliminating divisions. A school like Northwestern or Illinois would have almost no prayer of winning the Big Ten without conferences. The move would make Ohio State and the other elite programs even stronger and more dominant
Bernard

why do local fans seem to dislike Terry Bradshaw?  I live in Philly and grew up in Hershey so maybe I'm not in the know like those fans that grew up in and live in Pittsburgh.  Who really cares if the guy didn't like his coach?  He won 4 Super Bowls and 2 SB MVPS.  He doesn't have a criminal record, etc.  I find the whole thing odd.
Zeise
12:56
Because he has had a very love/hate relationship with the Steelers. And they love their Steelers. He seems to have softened his stance towards the steelers recently and that has led to him becoming more loved by the fans

Hey Paul, Roger G. tells me that as long as I did not put that "$100K for losing thing" into writing, and of course there are no corroborating witnesses with some stones, I should manage to skate through this unseemly situation I find myself in. Your thoughts?
Zeise
12:56
If you did put it in writing you may be the dumbest human being on the planet. And that's saying something. And if you are that dumb you deserve to go to jail

Paul, just wondering, did you ever respond very inappropriately to a text from one Nancy, when in fact it came from that other Nancy?  Guess I need to start saving those last names in my contacts. Huge bummer, man. This, plus Spygate and Deflategate? How much damage can one scoundrel's reputation take?
Zeise
12:57
That is the most hilarious part of this story in my opinion- Bill Belichick, great at coaching bad at texting

Paul, Will the USFL be on TV?
Zeise
12:58
Yes, at least the game of the week will be
Johnny

I'm a little upset about the reports that mediocre Mason will be starting next year. Dunlap mentioned in the morning that the Steelers might bring back Ben and trade him to a team like a Denver. I'd gladly take Locke and Bridgewater for Ben and give them a shot
Zeise
1:00
why would Denver want Ben? And why would you want Locke?

Hey Paul, with the recent skid that the Pens have been on, what do you think about going after a top guy? Seeing what McDavid and Draisaitl are doing in Edmonton is intriguing. Especially since they never win. Could give them some big pieces, just like the Kessel deal. Maybe 71 and 58 for another top offensive guy .
Zeise
1:01
No, they have cap issues and they are trying to  sign their own stars. They aren't going to do anything to give away draft choices or trade their future building chips
Ryan
1:01
go afternoon Paul what do you think about the penguins they need to start winning when they come back from all star break and what do you think they do at trade deadline
Zeise
1:02
They are fine. They have lost a couple of close games but they were on such a hot streak you knew they would have to come back to reality at some point. As for the trade deadline, they may just get a backup goalie or add some scoring depth but I don't see them making a splash move

Paul, keeping it clean for a family friendly chat, have you ever tried to expand a body part not known to science as being amenable to expansion?  A centimeter or two could mean millions! Wish me luck, bro,
Zeise
1:02
No, and good luck
Chatty Yinzer
1:03
Paul, some say that you are the only PG Chat Manager with a sense of humor (albeit modest) and without an obnoxious air of superiority?  Your thoughts?
Zeise
1:03
I would agree, this is sports, we are having fun and shooting the breeze about sports here.

Is Ryan Fitzpatrick still under contract with the Commies? Do you think he might be a good guy to bring into the Steelers QB room for 2022?
Zeise
1:03
Good lord, no. Please no. He is not what the Steelers need to get back to where they are
1:04
*where they want to be

Paul, is Hollywood Joe Burrow furious at my impeccable timing?  Sorry, I know this was his big moment, but he'll have others. I'm trying to change the world here.
Zeise
1:05
No, this is perfect - though now we will get a week of Super Bowl hype that includes national media types virtue signaling about the Rooney Rule
Ronnie
1:06
Paul what do you think of the Tomlin situation. I think it's pretty unacceptable that he wouldn't address it in his press conference.
Zeise
1:06
What is his situation?
Scott
1:07
Are there any affordable RBs on the market? If the Steelers do not Najee some help he will not live to see his next contract.
Zeise
1:07
Leonard Fournette!!!
