Welcome and let’s get started
Brad M.
12:03
Paul, do you agree with Sully's "Let's just play" mantra (i.e., turn the other cheek and score a goal) or was Kris L. just afraid that I'd potentially mess up that pretty French-Canadian face?
Zeise
12:05
Mike Sullivan has been very clear and consistent - the Penguins play hockey and they aren’t ever going to get involved in being goons. That’s who they are
Where’s My Clark Bar?
12:05
No way the Steelers go into next season with all the same options at ILB. What do they do?
Zeise
12:05
I would be they draft one and sign one. They will probably keep Bush, Spillane and Schobert though they will try and upgrade
Benny Smell
12:06
All this talk about Kenny Pickett’s / Joe Burrow’s small hands got me to thinking — what athletes had the biggest hands you ever saw / shook? Or had the most crushing handshake?
Zeise
12:07
I don’t recall anyone’s hands standing out to me in a way they I would remember them

12:07
Malkin is such a weapon on the PP, but Pens don’t look like a cup contender with him back. What does Hextall do?
Zeise
12:07
I would trade him but they won’t and they will sign him to a big contract in the offseason. It will be team friendly but he will get paid
LeBron
12:08
Paul, are my days of a being a de facto GM over, with the likely fallout from the Westbrook fiasco?  There's only one ball, and me and Russ both need it. How did I miss that vital roster building consideration?
Zeise
12:09
I think you are starting to reach the point in your career where you still think you are the best player in the league but you aren’t and so you should begin to think about getting on with your life’s work
Where’s My Clark Bar?

Good win for PITT on the road. Can you shot and do you have any eligibility left?
Zeise
12:10
I would fit with this Pitt team because I was defense and rebounding but no scoring

By the time the Steelers draft in the first round, probably all of the quarterbacks they have considered will be gone.If that is the case what position do you go for in the first round?Do you bring in another QB to compete with what they have on hand or do you go with what you have and classify this as a rebuilding year?
Zeise
12:10
Definitely offensive line and preferably offensive tackle
Brooksy
12:11
Paul, if I accept north of $100M guaranteed to join that Saudie (OK, Asian) tour, will I still be able to play in the Masters, US Open and Open Championship? I'm thinking the PGA is probably a no. Your thoughts?
Zeise
12:11
Go get that big bag and worry about the PGA later

Hi Paul, I haven't been watching the Olympics but have seen a lot of coverage photos on line.,  Most of these photos show athletes sobbing over their performances (2nd place finishes and the like; not tears of happiness for winning gold.).  Are these athletes that soft? Is it a generational thing? I mean, I remember the ski jumper for ABC's intro to the wide world of sports crashing into the slope off the ramp as Curt Gowdy reminds us of the (true and identifiable) "agony of defeat".
Zeise
12:12
Ha ha. This chat is an Olympics free zone. I haven’t watched a single second and won’t, either. The Olympics were cool in the 1980s when sports weren’t televised 24/7. Now they are just more background noise

Hi Paul, i glanced over the last 11 Steeler drafts and only came up with a handful of actual impact players.    No 6th round steals that we have been accustomed  too.   Is there any chance the Steelers look outside the building for a new talent evaluator?
Zeise
12:13
No it sounds like it is going to be the two-headed Khan and Hunt combo. That is where it seems to be headed
Kenny
12:14
Paul, all lames jokes about my hand size aside, if QBs were not pushed up draft boards based on a wing and a prayer, my physical skill set would leave me somewhere in the Rudolph land of the draft, correct?
Zeise
12:15
It sounds like you would have been a late second to early third round draft choice so I would agree
Charlie
12:15
Paul, are you a range rat who arrives early are warms up that decrepit man bod before the first tee, or (my guess), do you grab a few sixes and rely on the granting of the breakfast ball by your fellow geriatric hackers?
Zeise
12:16
I’m usually rolling into the parking lot at tee time and taking a breakfast ball

12:16
Hi Paul, can you see the Steelers signing an UFA QB like Mariota and also drafting one in the first or second round?
Zeise
12:16
Yes it would joy shock me if they add a rookie and a veteran to that room
BA
12:16
Paul, that rumor that I may want Ben for one last rodeo is hilarious, no? I mean, I nearly got him killed when he could still move like your average 40-year old male. Now, it'd be body bag time. But he can join me for some bass fishing any ole time he pleases....
Zeise
12:17
Lol, Arians just got done with a geriatric quarterback, why would he want another one and especially one who can’t play any more
Bernard
12:17
I've been a tOSU season ticket holder since 1987.  Lovie Smith was one of the worst head coaches I've seen over that time.  I know the college game is much different given recruiting, etc but what are the Texans thinking???
Zeise
12:19
I hate to say it like this but they were probably feeling pressure to hire a black coach, know they are gonna stink again and went safe with a guy who had coached in a Super Bowl. I will be willing to bet he will be 2 or 3 and done
Bernard
12:19
Who do you like this weekend?  Joe Burrow seems to have that "it factor" that seems crucial in these type of games.
Zeise
12:20
Honesty I think that the Rams defensive line will be too much for the Bengals to handle. That seems to be a bad matchup for the Bengals
ev
12:20
Hi Paul, How likely might it be for the Steelers to trade down in the first round for extra picks this year or next?
Zeise
12:21
I actually could see this scenario as they want more picks and want to be able to build that way. If they don’t have the no brainer there when they pick it wouldn’t shock me
Jay Daven
12:23
Paul, if the Steelers get a FA QB who do you think that will be?
Zeise
12:24
we Have all heard the names - Mariota, Winston, Brissett, Taylor, Trubisky. Pick one and roll with him
Tommy Boy
12:24
Derek Carr, for Rudolph and two 2nd rd picks(2022 and 23)?   Yes or no?  Resign him for 5/$150M.   Heard, on 93.7, Raiders want Jimmy G, so maybe Carr hits the trade market.
Zeise
12:24
No. Carr is fine but I don’t think he is worth that
Scott

MT is fond of saying he doesn't care where good ideas come from. This leads me to my question. What is Teryl Austin going to bring the table that he has not already contributed over the past 3 years? I am not bagging on him, or the hiring decision but can we really expect anything to change? If so, what?
