Being the number 1 overall pick in the MLB draft is not meaningful beyond the first time you get to go to the podium. It is just a long time between when you get picked and when you actually prove you can play

Hi Paul, the Braves signed their first baseman for $21M/year to lock him up pre free agency.  The Pirates are done.  There is no way Reynolds or KeBryan Hayes take any deal that isn't +$10M/year.  I guess we need a sucker to trade with like Tampa Bay did when they dealt Archer..??

Chris Simms has Corral as his #1 QB. PFF guy said Ridder is his, and I just read a mock that had the Steelers taking Sam Howell. What gives with this class of QBs? That mediocre?

I think it is very much buyer beware this year. I don't love any of these quarterbacks to be honest. Pickett looks like the best of him but I am not sure he is a franchise quarterback. I would pass on them in the first round.

Does the city, county, or stadium authority have any leverage at all to influence Nutting to sell the team? What about MLB? Something has to be done. Couldnt the stadium authority refuse to renew the lease on PNC to Nutting?

This is a loaded group of receivers. Loaded. There are good players throughout the draft and a lot of guys with speed.

I followed Mitch Trubiskis senior year at UNC and thought he would have difficulty translating his talent to the pros. Having said that, I think he’s very underrated and will be a huge success for the Steelers for the next 10 years. Your thoughts?

I have never thought he was going to be a good pro quarterback. Never. I think he doesn't read defenses great and he makes boneheaded decisions but he can maybe in a better organization become functional

Paul, I was reading about Bryan Reynolds heading to arbitration.  He seemed to indicate that the Pirates might hold the pandemic season (2020) against him because his numbers were low.  Do you think Nutting would do something that cheap?  I can't believe I just asked that.

Well the fact that the MLBPA and MLB agreed to allow it to continue as part of the CBA settlement suggests it isn't without merit
