As a part B to my previous question, now that we are in the Post Ben Era does Tomlin get an even longer leash than he already has? When, if ever, is this guy going to be on the hot seat?
Zeise
12:28
I doubt it. I think he calls his own shot. It won’t shock me if he decides to hang it up within the next five years
TMB
12:29
Didn’t hear the DVE interview. Is Ben’s ego so big that he thought he could keep playing at some level above poorly?
Zeise
12:30
Havent you been paying attention for the past 19 years? The guy doesn’t think he was playing poorly, doesn’t think his skills have diminished and thinks his problem was the offensive coordinator
Mediocre Mike
12:30
OK. Tomlin shoukd have been fired years ago.  Why are the  Rooneys satisfied with the goal of non losing seasons, , wildcard appearances, getting blown out in those wildcard appearances.  How is this Standard acceptable? Please give your thoughts on why Tomlin survives?
Zeise
12:31
Last year he was 12-4 and won a division. What are you talking about? He has done a good job with the Steelers
12:32
What are all of your thoughts on the five quarterbacks? Ridder, Howell, Corrall, Pickett or Willis. If you are a GM with the 15th pick and all five were on board what would you do?

12:34
Medicore Mike and Teflon Tomlin are obviously the same guy.  How many different ways can he ask the same question?
Zeise
12:34
No no it is mediocre Mason!
Dave Morehouse
12:35
Done deal Paul. Do you want grouchy Brian Burke to come, too. Or pick your 4th?
Zeise
12:35
No, how about Jay Caufield!!!
Bill in SF
12:35
Funny to hear Ben complain that Tomlin and Colbert did not want him back.  Doesn't he realize the organization was set back two years because of ARII bringing him back over their objections?  It's why we're talking about Pickett and Willis now.
Zeise
12:36
I don’t think they understand that. I said - and was crushed for it as a hater - five years
ago They should have traded him and moved on and not signed him to that extension. Four years and zero playoff wins later, here we are

Paul, with Davis gone, the pick is Drake London.  We love USC receivers and given the lack of talent on the roster, he allows us to let DJ walk.  What say you?
Zeise
12:38
There are some projections that he will be the first receiver taken. I would love it to be honest, they need to grab a guy like that but will he be there?
John
12:39
Paul, who do you think they'll take tonight. I missed who you said if you did.
Zeise
12:40
I’m going to say they won’t be boring and take a QB. I say they take the corner from Florida!
xturtlepowerx
12:41
we take our DL and a qb they like (ridder) is still on the board at 29. what would it take to pop back into the 1st rd to grab a qb or do they hold where they are and take BPA or Wr rd 2
Zeise
12:43
They would probably have to give up a 2nd and a 3rd and maybe a 1st and 3rd to move up from 52 to 29

Z - Do you think Troy Landry would have been a good middle linebacker?  Dude is kinda fearless.
Zeise
12:45
He is a tough SOB. I love these guys like him that throw alligators around and snatches those huge snakes by their neck!
I will rank the quarterbacks in my mind in terms of who I think will have the best NFL career:
corral
12:46
pickett
ridder
willis
howell
12:47
And I will predict this - one of the guys outside the top five will end up becoming a good NFL quarterback

Hi Paul.  Is there anyone on ESPN or the NFL Network that you value when it comes the Nfl draft or other sports?  Thank you.
Zeise
12:48
I like the NFL Network far more than ESPN, though I think Jeremy Fowler is really good and locally here Brooke Pryor is excellent. The thing about the NFL Network is they have a lot of guys who actually worked in the NFL and know what they are talking about

I noticed The Maulers had no coverage last week on here like that 1st week with 4 or 5 writing about them.  None this week.Maybe they went in full Paul Zeise anti Mauler beast mode & threw up their hands and said - why, they don't play here!
Zeise
12:50
Not true, our very own Johnny McGonigle was in Birmingham to cover that junk. And make no mistake that was junk. That league stinks
Jennifer Beals
12:50
Any word on the Maulers brining back the Flashdancers ? I'd sure like to maybe try out
Zeise
12:50
This is about the third week in the row for this one and it makes me laugh every time
Buzzard Bill
12:50
Hey Paul, is there any advantage to reaching for a QB when most people think this is not the year to find the franchise?  I sense that the Steelers just want to solve the problem, even if it is a risky pick.
Zeise
12:52
Again, it all depends on their own evaluation. If they think a guy is a franchise guy they need to take him. But I would not draft a guy who is the top rated guy on someone else’s board just because he is a quarterback
Bernard
12:52
They are going to blow this draft on Willis, who wasn't able to compete at Auburn and then played poorly against power 5s at Liberty.  Please tell me I'm wrong and they'll g DL or WR in round 1.
Zeise
12:53
If Willis drops to them it should tell you a whole lot. All we have read about is how spectacular the guy is and how much he impressed in his workouts and if that’s the case he shouldn’t be there at 20. Again, I want the corner from Florida - great player and fills a huge need
Bernard
12:54
Do they know whether Tuitt will be back and in playing shape yet this season?  Seems it would be smart for them to keep it under wraps before the draft regardless.
