The Steelers' OLB depth really scare me. What options are out there? Thx.
Zeise

They won’t find any depth until late in training camp when guys start to get cut. The Steelers have usually done well in those late summer bargain signings

What ever happened to Football Follies? Did the No Fun League ban them?
Zeise

I still see them from

Totally hypothetical and maybe stupid, at least I hope so. If the Pirates were absolutely hell bent on unloading all of Gregory Polanco's salary, do they have a player/prospect or two in their system that another team would want enough that they'd take Polanco in a package?
Zeise

That would be the dumbest move they could make. Ask Neal Huntington, who gave away a catcher, to trade Liriano

Paul, why is Danny Smith still employed as the Steelers special teams coach? The only thing special about our special teams performance over his tenure is gum chewing! Is he the right man to coach our new prized punter?

I have no idea. I’ve said this multiple times. The Ateelers special teams suck

I feel bad for the Pirates announcers trying push ticket sells to games that no one is interested in attending. How many fans do you expect to see at the first Fireworks Night?
Zeise
1:16
I think it will be big - we haven’t had fireworks in a long time and people here love fireworks

Do you think the Steelers are tempted to bring on eric kasperowicz as a special assistant this year? Why have no other high school/ local college teams showed any interest in hiring him?
1:18
It seems both the Steelers and Penguins are adopting the same approach of changing NOTHING, but hoping for a different outcome. Is this simple insanity or a function of covid-economics/ salary cap restrictions/ a desire to keep the fan base engaged in tough economic times. Why not just reset?

He is still fighting for his job at Pine Richland, why would anyone hire him yet? When he decides to move on he will have plenty of opportunities
1:19
And as I said - when you have a group who has won a lot or a quarterback like Ben Roethlisberger you keep convincing yourself you can make it happen one more time

In exactly 5 words, explain your reason why.

Good, not quite good enough

Before the season I really wanted the Pirates to give up on Polanco and spend a little money to get even a middling free agent to replace him. But they didn't and given that he now does not stand out as worse than any potential replacement, why would they not play him until at least September. Is there anyone in the organization they can put in right field that makes them better?
Zeise
1:21
They are paying him they might as well play him and see if they can get something out of him. Why not? They don’t have anyone pushing right now for Major League reps so he isn’t blocking anyone

Thanks for all the great questions let us do it again next week at the same time!!!
