Penguins need to get a 1A veteran goaltender, don’t they, to compete with Jarry? Will they get one and who should they go after?
Zeise
12:41
I think they will. And hey why not - Marc-Andre Fleury!!!

Hi Paul.  Do you think in the offseason there is any chance the NHL will move to make officiating more consistent in the playoffs vs the regular season?   I prefer the Penguins/Lightning brand of hockey to the Islanders/Canadiens'.
Zeise
12:42
Nope. As long as the dinosaurs run the league it will always be run the way it is right now. That will never change

Has Rico and his cohorts stormed the PG offices yet?
Zeise
12:52
No but we will remain on alert

Any reason the Steelers aren’t allowed to play at Latrobe but other teams like the Cowboys and Chiefs can play at other college campuses??
Zeise
12:55
It has to do with NFL protocols. I’m sure it has to do with people being close to the players. Thats the big fear I’m sure - random people getting close to the players

What does this latest transfer from Gonzaga mean for Pitt?  Do you think this is a type of player that could really elevate the team and make them competitive?
Zeise
12:58
I don’t know about next level but it sounds like a good addition. You want to continue to add good players. That’s what you do to get better. Build a foundation around players you can win with

Have you read Bill Cowher’s book? I thought it was pretty good.
Zeise

Not yet but I plan on it. Michael Holley is an incredible writer

Paul have you ever seen pro athletes pile on another athlete for just getting a chance like the shade that was thrown at Tim Tebow? I can't understand why they care that he is getting a tryout?
Zeise

It is because he is considered the golden boy and people get jealous. He isn’t even gonna make the team

Although I agree with you that the latest ruling against the NCAA by the SCOTUS may force some schools to go from Division I-A  to Division III, you are mistaken in your representation of Division III athletics. Although they do not give out athletic scholarships or grants, they do give out large amounts of institutional dollars, namely academic scholarships and/or institutional grants to their athletes.

Every school gives academic scholarships and financial aid even D-1 schools

If the Power 5 break away from the NCAA do you ever see a realignment along regional lines?  I know a lot would have to do with tv payouts, etc...
Zeise

It is not going to happen

Hi Paul  what in your opinion is Mike Tomlin's greatest strength and greatest weakness as a head coach?
Zeise
1:04
Greatest strength is how he handles players and how he gets them to buy in to what he is selling. Greatest weakness is he is stubborn sometimes and it holds him back

Is Marc Andre a free agent?
Zeise
1:08
No I think they are gonna try and trade him though

Tom has great hair for the Bucs but why do they think that a 27-year-old Rule 5 player is a keeper?
Zeise
1:09
He is the new SeanRod that’s why! Clint Hurdle had a soft spot for Sean Rod and Derek Shelton has a soft spot for Tom. I don’t get it. He adds nothing

Although I completely agree that Jarry was the primary reason that we had another disappointing playoffs, why does Sid get a pass? He had ONE GOAL in the Islander series and now this is three years in a row that he has done NOTHING in the playoffs. At least Jarry can use his inexperience as an excuse.
Zeise

sid gets a pass because he is Sid and he is the franchise player that has led them to the Stanley Cup three times.

Played golf with Chris Howard in Hilton head a couple months ago. We were both lamenting on why Robert Morris Pitt and Duquesne don't play one another annually in b ball. How great that would be for the city and building rivalries and creating buzz with the fanbases. I'm sure it's Pitt's fault as they probably see it as a no win scenario for them but they should at least revisit the possibility of scheduling some games against one another. I think it may help recruiting for all 3 schools IMO.

It won’t happen until the adults at the universities take control and tell the coaches to stop acting like petulant children and play the damn games. It isn’t hard. Egos get in the way but that’s where administrators should step in
