Hey Paul...I was watching an old Pens game that went into overtime.  Do play by play broadcasters and color analysts get paid extra for overtime games or is that just part of their contracts?  Thanks.
Zeise
12:03
No it is just part of the contract
Mark

Hi, Paul!  I'm using Clemson here as an example, because they have the most reported cases among college football teams, but this can apply almost anywhere.  Clemson
Clemson's first game is at Georgia Tech.  I know it's two months out, and there's so much more unknown about Coronavirus than what is known, but here's my question: How can the president of Georgia Tech, the mayor of Atlanta, the governor of Georgia or even the ACC allow this game to happen?  I just see it being impossible to justify under the circumstances.  What do you think?  Thanks.
Zeise
12:07
the flip side of this is most of Clemson’s players have already had this and therefore are, at least from what we know, are immune to it and safe. That’s also two months away though so who knows where the pandemic will be

Hi Paul, thanks for the chats.  How confident are you that there will be a college football/basketball season this year?
Zeise
12:09
I’m not very confident we will see college football. It just seems like the one sport that is going to be very difficult to pull off. However I do think we will see college basketball

Paul - If Point Park had a Mt. Rushmore of athletes, then would you be on it?  Either way, who would be on it?  Happy 4th!
Zeise
12:11
Don Kelly, Bob Rager, John Stupor and Bobby Franklin
MD.

Hey Paul, your my favorite sportscaster/talk show/ radio show personality ... BY FAR!   2-Part question: How much do you feel Kenny Pickett will evolve inbhear 2 of Mark Whipple's offense?  And secondly, How much or little do you feel Pittsburgh offense will do to "effectively" run the ball thereby balancing their offense? After all, throw to score, run to win.
Zeise
12:13
The second part is easy - Pat Narduzzi wants to run the ball so they will work hard to get that part of their game right. And yes, I believe that Kenny Pickett will take a big leap forward
Tommy Boy
12:13
What % do you give that there will be football this fall, NFL, college and even high school?   Sept - January with no football will be depressing.
Zeise
12:14
I will say 85-90 percent for NFL, 45-50 percent for college football and 50-50 high school
Gina
12:15
Hello, have you been told if there will be social distancing in the press box?  Will there be limit as to the number of media permitted in the press box?  Thank you.
Zeise
12:15
There will be limited spots for media and yes social distancing in the press boxes
ALB
12:15
Paul, if all sports should end up being cancelled this summer and fall, have you thought about what that will mean for you as someone whose profession is covering sports?
Zeise
12:16
To quote Dalton from Road House “There’s always barber college...”
Donna
12:16
Hi Paul.  Happy 4th to you and yours.  What can you tell me about the Georgia quarterback Newman who may be drafted as a possible successor to Ben?
Zeise
12:17
Haven’t you been paying attention? Ben’s successor is Mason Rudolph
Mike D

I’m of the strong opinion that we will not see the finish of any professional sports this year.  As soon as an individual tests positive on any team, and then a second, that will be it.  What’s your thoughts?
Zeise
12:21
I disagree with your second point. I don’t know if we will see the end of a season. But it won’t be because one or two people test positive. It will be because the numbers in the country get so overwhelming they shut everything down
GSMP
12:22
Can Newton's contract generated a fair amount of opinions. The question I have is could Newton be overrated? He had a fantastic 2015 and deserved the MVP. But statistically speaking, his numbers are very similar to Jeff Garcia, with the exception of Newton's rushing yards, which I'm not discounting.
Zeise
12:25
I think he is very good and if he is healthy I think he makes the Patriots a much different - and better team. He is the ultimate weapon
GSMP
12:26
How much impact will Matt Canada have on the play designs and calling this year.
Zeise
12:26
I think they will be subtle but impactful. He will do a lot to help the run game and the run blocking schemes
Buzzard Bill
12:27
Paul, is there any news on Bill Hillgrove?  Is he staying with Pitt and the Steelers announcing teams?
Zeise
12:28
I would expect he will still be with the teams. He has a lot of good will capital built up with both organizations. I’m sure there will be some conditions put on him but he will still be the voice of both teams
TP Ranger
12:28
Paul, if games simply cannot happen because of the virus, what about virtual broadcasts for the NFL like NASCAR had earlier in the year? Every Madden fan could relate.
Zeise
12:29
I would not even want to think about that. I have no interest in virtual sports
TP Ranger
12:29
If the hockey and NBA seasons successfully reach September, what do their 2020-21 seasons look like? Maybe begin in December?
Zeise
12:29
I think that is the plan, isn’t it
TP Ranger
12:29
What do you think the odds are for the Final Four happening next spring?
Zeise
12:30
I think 95 percent or higher
TP Ranger
12:30
And your favorite firework is? I always liked bottle rockets.
Zeise
12:32
I love the Roman candles. The bottle rockets are fun too and of course the M-80s!

12:32
Hey Paul do you think we ever see live sports or anything else with crowds ever again ? My guess is no
Zeise
12:33
Ever again? Ever? I am not sure if we will see it this year but ever? I think we will see crowds again
Jimmie

I was astounded to read that Las Vegas received our second round pick in this year's NHL draft as part of the compensation for selecting Marc-Andre Fleury in the expansion draft. It was bad enough to lose MAF, but to have to give up any draft choice in addition is hard to understand.  Please explain.
Zeise
12:37
It was an incentive to make sure that Vegas took Fleury - and his contract - off the Penguins hands. It sweetened the pot to make sure the trade would happen
