Can you tell me Ben's greatest regular season in your opinion? No play-offs included. And Ben said he played well last season, do you agree?
Zeise
1:31
I think he was just OK last season and not much better than that

Most underappreciated Pittsburgh championship team - Pipers or Triangles? I was a little young when the Pipers won the ABA but I was there at the arena the night the Tri's won the title. Good crowd, very raucous.
Zeise
1:31
The Pipers, of course. They won the ABA, a major sporting league and they get no love at all

How much booze you taking up training camp when you go up there & sleep in your car?
Zeise
1:32
None because I plan on coming to your tailgate and drinking some of yours!!

To what degree has the Steelers OL really improved? Yes, Daniels is an upgrade over Turner but Cole is Just A Guy and the rest is basically the same.
Zeise
1:33
They moved Kendrick Green, that's a huge improvement. I think Dan Moore will be better with a year under his belt and a healthy Dotson makes a difference
Kirby Wilson
1:34
I think the level of excitement for our training camp next year will totally surpass that of the Steelers. Agreed ?
Zeise
1:34
Um, no

I'm with you on Narduzzi, Paul. There's no reason to go after Whipple and Canada months or years after the fact. It helps nothing, it looks petty, and ore importantly -- if I'm an assistant coach and I have to similar offers between Pitt and another team, do I want to work for Team A, or the team whose coach throws his assistants under the bus? Dumb.
Zeise
1:36
Well he has very loyal assistants, he is a successful coach in a Power 5 league, he has plenty of people who want to work for him. But he needs to tone it down for sure.

Is Matt Canada the most important person to the Steelers future? Plenty of first round QB's flame out because their teams have to change coordinators and systems.
Zeise
1:36
No, Kenny Pickett is
Guest
1:36
Lots of folks are excited to see Pickett start but didn't the Chiefs give Mahomes a year or two to learn? Wouldn't we want to replicate that success?
Zeise
1:44
Again - they didn't bring Mitch Trubisky here to be the backup.
William T
1:44
Why even bother having Pickett learn the playbook? Canada will be gone next year and Kenny will have to start all over anyways.
Zeise
1:47
It isn't about learning the playbook it is about the NFL - learning life as an NFL player and maturing and growing into an NFL quarterback

Good afternoon Paul who wins the battle between Dotson and green i think Dotson wins
Zeise
1:47
I would agree that Dotson has the edge and will win the job

Hi Paul. Curious how you would grade the Pens and Steelers offseason moves so far. I’d say C for Pens and B+ for Steelers.
Zeise
1:48
I agree the Pens get a C - they aren't better now than they were two months ago. The Steelers I give an A - they addressed all their needs and seem to have a team that could make the playoffs again. And they got their QB of the future

Hi Paul.  Is it me or does it seem that the batting average Fr most players is way down?  Is this because the hitters are that bad or the pitchers are that good?
Zeise
1:49
It is way down but that's because hitters are judged differently now and batting average is no longer a priority. I don't agree with that sentiment but that's MLB in the era of analytics and beyond

Who starts and finishes the season at Pitt QB?
Zeise

Kedon Slovis

Dino's or Sharky's?
Zeise

I love both places

Hi Paul, when will the Steelers wise up and trade DJ.  I do not understand why he think’s he deserves a big contract.  Yes he had some good numbers last year but also 20 drops the last two years.  I think they would be better off trading him and get some draft picks.
Zeise
1:50
What are they likely to get for him at this point?

I get the no love for Ben based on his often selfish personality, but the main reason they haven't won a playoff game in six years is because the defense can't stop anyone. Ben sure made his share of turnovers in those games, but if the defense could have made a stop in the second half against Jacksonville they would have pulled that one out. Love him or hate him, he was one of the best quarterbacks ever to play in the NFL and he gets into the Hall in his first year.
Zeise
1:51
There are many reasons why they haven't won a playoff game in ages. Ben has been one of them at times. It is a team game, though, and many had hands in losing
Steeltown
1:56
Hey Paul, I think The Steelers would be smart not to offer Deonte Johnson a deal this year, unless it is a really beneficial one to the Steelers, but let the season play out in a year he has a lot to prove, and see how these other receivers on the roster develop. Now, that would create an interesting situation as far as what he does in camp. What do you think?
Zeise
1:57
I would not give him $20 million a year. I would not, if I was him, take less than that. It seems like the best course of action is to play this season, have a big year, go somewhere else and get paid. That is how it will play out.

We'd like to thank Adam Bittner for agreeing to put his name on the satirical article we submitted about the Pirates trading and paying Juan Soto. You're welcome Pittsburgh
