As I said — 9-3 with a Bowl win to get to 10-3. They have eight wins built into their schedule. That means they just have to go 1-3 against NC, Va Tech, Clemson and The U. I like their chances

Do you think any of the starting pitchers currently playing for the Pirates seem likely to be in either their rotation two or more years down the road?
Zeise
12:35
I think there is an outside chance either Mitch Keller or JT Brubaker could be but that’s a bit of a long shot
Mercury
12:35
Do you know if Al Villanueva has made any public comments about the situation in Afghanistan?
Zeise
12:35
Not that I have seen
Jarvis Ragdoll Jones
12:36
Two part question if I may. 1) do you believe, as I do, that the vast majority of the fan base prefers the block numbers? 2) If yes to the above, do you think Mr. Rooney knows this and would ever consider switching back? The rounded numbers, while a subtle change make a big difference to some of us old dudes.
Zeise
12:36
Older fans do. But older fans aren’t the target demographic for trying to sell shirts to so no
Where’s My Clark Bar?

I am aware of past Pittsburgh professional basketball (Pipers, Condors) but that was so long ago. Will Pittsburgh be in a national conversation if/when the NBA looks to expand next?
Zeise
12:38
No there are much better cities - like Vegas - the NBA would think about. This is not a place the NBA would expand to

Paul, I’ve noticed John Werner hasn’t been on the Pirates’ broadcasts due to business interests.  Are “guest” analysts like Matt Capps, Mike McKendry and others being considered to possibly replace Wehner?  Also, what’s your favorite East Carson Street restaurant next to Archie’s?  Thanks Paul!
Zeise
12:40
The second one is easy - Cupkas followed by Excuses! I think the plan may be to continue to use multiple color commentators throughout each season

Why was it not reported that the real reason that the Pirates put Polanco on waivers was the hope and the prayer that another team (sucker) would pick up not only his remaining salary for this year (2.5 million) but also his contract (12 million) or buyout (3 million) for next year? In other words, it was in essence a "salary dump" by the Pirates and not some benevolent chance for him to latch onto a contending team!
Zeise
12:43
When you look out your window, do you see black helicopters? Why are you talking about? Ot course they were trying to get someone to take him but they were on the hook for his salary. Relax my man, it ain’t that serious

Do I have to pay everyone if there is a work stoppage due to a strike?
Zeise
12:43
Not while they are not working
Hail to...
12:45
Do you think James Franklin will be a lifer at Penn State or eventually go for a "bigger" job. There can't be too many bigger college jobs than Penn State.
Zeise
12:46
I will say this - it is getting to the point where he could become a lifer. If he is still at Penn State 3 or 4 years from now he will likely be a lifer. At this point it is a matter if he wants to try the NFL thing or not
Mercury
12:47
Would the Pirates actually save money during a work stoppage given that they are probably paying more people to work at the games than the number of fans in the stands?
Zeise
12:47
That’s funny. But I don’t think you are far off
Mark
12:47
Paul, do you know if Pickett is still going to run toward the sidelines to get every play?
Zeise
12:48
I would hope not. He is a senior, he shouldn’t need to

Auriemma “don’t be complaining when your favorite team falls apart because five guys are transferring, because they don’t like the fact that five other guys are getting a lot of money“
Zeise
12:49
My rebuttal to that is this - how do pro teams survive multiple people with various levels of endorsements? It is what it is.
Mercury
12:49
How could Bernard forget Ryan Shazier??
Zeise
12:49
Would he really make their all time team?
Carl in Carrick
12:51
Paul, the recent alliance involving the ACC and the Big Ten: do you think it might help or hinder Pitt’s basketball and football recruiting?  Thanks.
Zeise
12:51
I don’t think it will make any difference at all
Johnny Sack
12:51
Does Haskins have the makings of a varsity athlete?

Favorite Casino Game? Favorite sport to watch? Mount Rushmore of CURRENT Pittsburgh News Anchors? (Me-Kelly Sasso, Jennifer Tomziac, Stockey and Mike Clark
Zeise
12:58
Paul Maurtino, Stacy Smith, Bob Pompeani and Kym Gable. I obviously have a KDKA bias but I love all those four (and yes I know two are retired but they are current to me!) Poker is my casino game and golf is my favorite sport to watch

Do I have a chance to move to safety once dudes start blowing past me?  Anyone else pull that off other than R. Woodson?  I wont say it out loud, but I'm already a much better and more willing tackler than a certain unnamed co-worker......Your thoughts?
Zeise
1:00
Unfortunately no I don’t think you have the skill set that would make you a guy who extends his career at safety
CoalportKid

LeVeon Bell still on the street. Hearing any rumors?
Zeise
1:00
Why would anyone sign this guy? We last saw him he was out of shape and not very good and he ripped his coach. If you are gonna be a pain in the ass you better be able to play and he can’t play any more

I think Fireworks are totally overrated.  you?
Zeise
1:01
I enjoy them but don’t understand why people lose their minds to go see them. After a while they all run together and look the same
Jock Sutherland

Can’t disagree though have a feeling a healthy Henry could get Dickersons record.
Zeise
1:02
Maybe but teams still pass it so much that it is gonna be hard even for a guy like him to put up that many yards rushing

Have you ever seen a truly great center rolled like our new man Kendrick?  Just saying......
