It seems to me Art Rooney has been very unimpressive as an owner. He was the driving force behind Ben coming back, didn't care obviously that Oline coach and OC coach was promoted within and I don't see any accountability anywhere. I think the Steelers miss Dan. Thoughts?

I can’t disagree that he hasn’t been as good as his predecessor but you are only as good as the people around you. The guys evaluating the talent have not done a good job

Why do I see Pitt losing to GT this weekend? I just have no faith anymore that they will win games they are supposed to win. They're 4 point favorites. I think the only lock is the over at 58.

I think the thing is they aren’t terrible, Georgia Tech I mean. And this is the kind of year in the ACC where there is a lot of parity and anyone can beat anyone. I think Pitt is better but I don’t think they can just show up and win

Oscar Marin should be fired and please don't say he had nobody good to work with. No pitcher got better under him, Mitch Keller never improved and so many guys got worse. He gotta go Paul.

The second part of what you said is true - I can’t think of a single pitcher who is better now than they were at the start. Keller just got lit up, Kuhl, Brubaker and Crowe all got worse

I see this Steelers season going off the rails I really do. I know it's only been 3 games but the offense looks like it can't be fixed. You might laugh but I am now seeing 4 or 5 wins and that's only because the defense wins a couple during the season when their players are all healthy. Top 7 or 8 pick coming.

The thing is under Mike Tomlin they always find a way to slop together 8 or 9 wins and they still have enough talent to do so. I think this will be a real right around 8-9 or 9-8

Just read the Steers have faced 3rd and two yards or less 9 times, and they have thrown 7 of those plays. Third and two, 5 wides is the dumbest formation in football; makes you completely one dimensional. Ben and Canada’s offense are like the Odd Couple we watched as kids! It had to AR2 that wanted Ben back, because the hiring and drafting surely do not match up with retaining a 38 year immobile QB.

I agree - I hated the hire then, I hated it during training camp ajd now that I’ve seen those two work together I hate it more now. They should have left Randy Fichtner in place

If the Steelers fall to like 1-6 would Tomlin then have the guts finally to just sit Ben. I mean what the hell is it gonna take to bench Ben not counting an injury?

By 2025 what should the Pirates payroll be Paul if Nutting was to be believed that he made a mistake after 2015 not spending more? It definitely has to be over $100 million right? Bare minimum I'd say. I'd like to see it at #
$120 million to $125 million

I've read about various ways MLB is considering to make baseball more interesting.  How about going back to the days when starting pitchers routinely pitched full games and were idolized by their fans? I grew up anxiously awaiting games pitched by Sandy Koufax, Don Newcombe, Bob Gibson, Bob Friend. They all pitched 15-20 full games a year.  I'm told today's young pitchers are immediately trained not to expect to do so from their first day in the minors. As a result, the game's now like watching an NFL game where the qb is pulled after a certain number of passes.  Now there's a way to reduce my interest in football!

Do you think Ben is just plain hard to coach? How many more weeks of ‘I have to play better’ or ‘start faster’ are we going to have to listen to? My guess is once the season is lost (1-5 record) Ben is “injured”.

Have you seen Pony's new schtick? Keeps calling for Aaron Rogers to come here and claims we would automatically be Super Bowl contenders. That's absurd. Rogers would have a hard time with the oline and I think he wouldn't come here mainly because he doesn't want to get hit 10 times a game.
