I have a strange feeling he will finish his career in Green Bay
Stella

Is Amanda a real person?

The original who called the show and whined about the set having too much beer advertising on it. The version on here weekly is probably someone’s attempt at being funny so we all play along

You may get this question in some form many times today. You wrote that Tomlin should tell Roethlisberger to run Canada's offense or he won't play. Do you see that scenario, or any other realistic one, where Roethlisberger gets benched if he's healthy?
Zeise
12:57
Nope like I said it won’t happen, this is the Steelers and there are glaciers that move faster than them when it comes to making changes
Vince
12:57
Did you see Starkey's column today Paul? It's a pretty bad indictment of Tomlin and his staff for about 10 years now. Very depressing to read but 100% accurate. What do you think?
Zeise
12:58
There was nothing I found myself saying “Joe is way off here” and I pretty much agreed with all of what he said 🤦🏾‍♂️

After the Bills game 2 weeks ago, many fans and sports talk show hosts (even Mueller), we’re talking playoffs and even Super Bowl for the Steelers. How did they supposedly become so bad so quickly?
Zeise
12:59
Not this sports talk show host. I was being called a negative yinzer media guy and a hater because I wrote they were more resourceful and lucky than actually good

What has the U.of Cincinnati done with football in the last five years or so that Pitt hasn't. The schools seem very similar.
Zeise

Played in a garbage conference with a lot of bad teams and compiled a bunch of wins and then hired an excellent coach
Kyle
1:00
Whatever happened to Thor Tolo? Remember him? Also George Von Benko? He used to be on radio here back in the late 80's and everyone would call him and ask him about Harold Carmichael for some reason just to annoy him lol.
Zeise
1:01
Have no idea what Thor is doing but George Von Benko is still around and does some work for Duquesne and Robert Morris
Bernard
1:02
Were they pulling Bush on some passing downs b/c he's still hampered by the groin injury or has his role changed?
Zeise
1:02
They are I think limiting his snaps a little bit and he isn’t good in that role anyway
Bernard
1:03
If the FO and coaching staff had any faith in Mason Rudolph as the long term answer at QB, wouldn't they have nudged Ben into retirement?
Zeise
1:04
Not necessarily because they think Ben still has something left and he has won a lot of games in his career for them
Bernard
1:04
No coach has ever gone more than a few seasons b/w Super Bowl wins with the same team, let alone 10+.  Tomlin is a good coach, maybe he just needs a change of scenery a la Andy Reid.  It just seems like it is time to move on.
Zeise
1:05
I would agree that it could be a time for a change of scenery and it also could be time for a new voice for the Steelers

Paul - Why is no one talking about the awful job ARII is doing as an owner?  He’s more like his grandfather than his father in running the franchise.  He seems to be unwilling or unable to do the things that need to be done for the Steelers to be successful.
Zeise
1:06
You aren’t the first person on this chat to suggest this. And again I think the Steelers need to adapt to the modern way of doing things
Bernard
1:06
How many QBs would be thriving with this OL and WRs dropping passes left and right? I get Ben has played poorly and likely should've retired, but he's getting smoked all game long and frankly his WRs don't often get separation and drop a ton of catchable passes.
Zeise
1:07
You are right - Ben has been bad, the receivers drop too many passes and the offensive line stinks right now. There is plenty of blame to go around
Bernard
1:07
Given Matt Canada's resume (fired LSU, middling success at Pitt and MD), why was anyone enthusiastic about this hire?
Zeise
1:08
That is a great question. You take his year at Pitt out of the equation and it is a whole lot of mediocrity or worse
Mercury

If Bryan Reynolds BA reaches .300 before Sunday do you sit him at that point?
Zeise
1:08
No. If he was flirting with .400 it would be one thing but just play him until the end
Mercury

I get the feeling from some of the things you’ve said at times that you think Big Ben is a bit of a phony. Is that accurate?
Zeise
1:09
It isn’t quite accurate - I don’t think he is a bit of a phony, I think he is a full blown phony
Bernard

Haven't sniffed a Super Bowl since Arians and LeBeau were coordinators.  Coincidence?
Zeise
1:10
There are a lot of reasons. But those two were really good

Hi Paul, thank you for your time.  With the Steelers starting four rookies: Harris, Green, 65, and the punter, why not start Friermuth full time instead of splitting snaps with Ebron?  Get that experience going.  Ebron has been dropping passes and isn't much help in blocking.  Hey, if Detroit didn't want him.....
Zeise
1:12
I have not been able to come up with a single reason why Eric Ebron is still on this team much less getting snaps. He just isnt very good

Hi Paul.  Don’t know if you saw or noticed that Pirates’ failure to throw to second base with a man on third cost them two runs when the batter subsequently got a base hit. Is this a consistent policy or one based on the game situation?  Thanks.
Zeise
1:13
They have actually been very good, much improved on defense this year

Roansy Contreras was very impressive in sample size last night! I'm hoping this is also a sample size of the caliber of ball players upcoming from the minors in the near future. Your thoughts?
Zeise
1:14
He pitched three innings so let’s not get ahead of ourselves. I liked what I saw but I’m not ready to make any statements about what it means or who he will be

I understand that the Aaron Rogers comments about Pittsburgh have started the rumor mill and that it is unrealistic to think that he would be a possibility next year as Steeler qb, however, what exactly makes it so far-fetched? Steelers will have a ton of cap space, #7 has been an embarrassment the last 10 games, we have a great D when healthy, the line can gain experience and we can upgrade this off-season and draft a stud 1st round if we do not have to worry about a QB. Tell me why we can't have a real QB in Pittsburgh next year.
Zeise
1:16
I suppose it could happen and there are some reasons to think it could work for both sides. But it just isn’t how the Steelers do business
Mercury

Living in South Carolina I don’t know who is more upset, Steelers fans with Ben and Canada or Clemson fans with Uiagalelei and Elliott.  Does Narduzzi beat Swinney this year?
