Has Pat Narduzzi gotten less aggressive since he started at Pitt? I remember him faking a punt and going for the win against Syracuse early in his career.  Then last year he kicks that field goal at Penn State?  Sure seems like he has, but is there any evidence to support this?
Zeise
12:10
He has at times been aggressive - didn’t he fake punt on 4th and 10 a few weeks ago? He goes back and forth, I think he is overall conservative by nature though. He is a defensive minded coach and so he is constantly thinking like a defensive coordinator and not an offensive coordinator. What he did at the end of the half of the ND game was basically surrender

Hi Paul I hope the Steelers can put up some quick points against the Ravens and maintain a lead. I fear a close game will end with a FG and the Ravens Tucker never misses. Your thoughts please.
Zeise
12:12
If your fear is a close game that comes down to the end you should not watch. That’s how these two teams play. Your point about not falling behind is valid.  The Ravens are really difficult to play against when they get a lead

Do you think the Steelers will make any trades before deadline? If so what would you do?
Zeise
12:13
I really don’t. I think they will stand pat with what they have. I just don’t think there is an area they can upgrade with a trade that would make sense

I know Narduzzi may be in the hot seat but I was wondering your opinion of any coaches out there that are ready to run a major college program. I like Monken from West Point. He wins with barely any great D1 talent.
Zeise
12:15
I have really not studied other coaching candidates yet because I don’t think Pat Narduzzi is going anywhere. Nobody at the school has a desire to fire him. The economics of college athletics right now dictate a lot of coaches who maybe should be fired won’t be. I actually believe he can go 0-4 down the stretch finish 3-8 and not get fired

Paul, I appreciate TW’s greatness as much as anyone, but a couple stats to keep in mind: (1) I was second in 19 majors, compared to TWs 6. And I had 48 top threes in majors (think about that) or twice as many as TW. I think your GOAT declaration is subject to very legitimate debate. Have a good one.
12:18
And TW has me around the greens, but I was a better driver overall. We are equals in putting, iron play, course management and mental toughness. I’ve said my peace. Jack

Tiger Woods 12 year run was the most dominant of any athlete in any sport in the history of sports. He is the greatest of all time

Hi Paul, is D Johnson's toe an eyebrow raiser? Seems every week he gets time off for a toe issue, although you can't tell during game day.
Zeise
12:20
Well a bad toe did end Jack Lambert’s career!
daniel
12:21
What the heck was going on with Cam Sutton? Is he o.k. mentally?
Zeise
12:23
I have no idea. I get a kick out of people who try and guess what someone is trying to say on social media. It could have meant absolutely nothing to do with the Steelers
daniel
12:24
Any takers for RB Samuels and DL Wormley? I don't think we need these guys.
Zeise
12:25
A team would have to be desperate for a body at either position in order to trade for them. I’m not sure how much value either would have

How do see College Hoops season playing out with rising Covid numbers.  Pitt hasn’t even announced a schedule yet.   June Madness?
Zeise
12:27
I think it will be fine. Colleges need March Madness to happen and so they will do everything in their power to play. Plus - and hear what I’m saying, not what you think I’m saying - I think some of the rhetoric and hysteria will subside on all of this Wednesday and that will allow people to think more clearly and make rational decisions.

If Pitt is going to fire Narduzzi,is it not best to do so after the end of this season. He doesn't have Kenny Pickett returning nor a good deal of his defensive backs.Next year appears to be a more down year than this year.
Zeise
12:32
Well he could have Pickett back and really anyone that wants to come back. The NCAA gave them all a waiver for one more year. And I would say this - I don’t know what is the right answer, but maybe cleaning oil some of this senior group will be addition by subtraction. I’m not saying this is a bad group or a group with bad apples, I’m saying sometimes a group that is supposed to be ultra talented underachieves and disappoints and then brings the program down. Sometimes a group with no expectations rises up and plays to prove people wrong. You just never know which is why making a decision about firing a coach should never be contingent on the players coming back or graduating
Matt from LA
12:32
To say the least, that was an embarrassing performance by Pitt on national television last Saturday! The defense, the supposed strength of this team, was a putrid as the anemic offense! Please tell me that changes are inevitable at the end of the season?
Zeise
12:33
Again, I don’t think Pat Narduzzi is going to be fired no matter what. I just don’t. I do think that there will be some deep changes in the coaching staff
Barry J.
12:33
Paul - What do you think Beano Cook would say about this Panther football team?
Zeise
12:33
The reason they lost is because they don’t have as good of material as Notre Dame
Matt from LA
12:34
Is there a game manager in college football worse than James Franklin? Even Narduzzi would not have blown that game against Indiana!
Zeise
12:37
Yeah Franklin is the ultimate CEO coach. He has a great program and he recruits well. He has done a fabulous job. But if anyone ever needed a quality control coach who knows how to manage a game that he would listen to, it is Franklin. He is a little shaky on game day
Raymund

Hey Paulie, are you in the wagon of we are thin at ILB for the whole remaining season and is an almost ‘Must’ to trade for someone before Nov 3 before is to late later, (for someone who doesn’t have to be starter right away while learning the defense) just for insurance at worst, we are an injury away for disaster.. or in the wagon of ride with what we have? Explain please keep safe !
Zeise
12:38
Is there a third wagon - on this one, I don’t have a strong opinion. I can be convinced either way. I lean probably to adding some depth but not nearly to the point of not being OK with rolling with what they have
Matt from LA
12:39
Although they lost the World Series, the Devil Rays proved that money is not the only way to produce a winner in MLB. Maybe the Pirates can stop using this as their annual excuse?
Zeise
12:41
The Pirates can learn that from both teams in the World Series. The Dodgers obviously  have a big payroll but that’s not why they won. They won because like the Rays they are a first class organization who Scout’s well, drafts well, develops well, trades well, utilized international resources well and unless you do those things you can’t win no matter how much you spend

Hey Paul...Do you see the headline of the Ravens game being  more the Steelers offense versus there defense...or our defense versus there offense
Zeise
12:42
I think the key matchup is Steelers defense vs Ravens offense. I think if they can control Lamar Jackson they will win. If he has a big game they will lose.

Whats your thoughts on how Mike Tomlin will want to coach. I ask since it is hard to believe he is only one year away from when Cowher hung it up and one win away from passing Tony Dungy who also walked away when he quite young.
Zeise
12:43
Everything I’ve read about Tomlin suggests he will be a coach for a long, long time. He loves it, he lives it and he doesn’t seem to have a ton of other interests. Some guys love coaching and it defines who they are. He seems to be one of those guys

Steelers or Ravens?   Penn St or Ohio St?   I think it's Ravens and Buckeyes, but PSU will keep it close and cover
Zeise
12:44
I like Steelers +4 and PSU +12 1/2. I like Ravens and OSU on the moneyline....
