I think in year 6, Duzz has not shown necessary improvement...What is the buyout?
Zeise
12:45
Way, way, way too much for a school to think about paying in the middle of a pandemic

Hi Paul. I'm sorry to disagree about your mailbag item concerning whether Ben is an MVP candidate. You say no, I say absolutely! The players you mentioned, such as Henry, Wilson and Mahomes, absolutely deserve consideration, but they do no more for their teams than Ben does for the Steelers. Without him, they probably are 4-2, maybe 3-3 now. They go nowhere without him.
Zeise
12:46
That’s a fair point. My counter would be the Steelers would still be 4-2 without him. The Chiefs, Seahawks and Titans would be in last place without those three guys I mentioned. Rowthlisberger is great but the  Steelers are a really good team around him

Do you think it is time for Pitt to find a new HC?  Narduzzi can’t recruit, he is not a good game day coach, and the program has not improved in 6 years.
Zeise
12:48
Pat Narduzzi has done some things well, other things not so well. It is a tough call but I would say he should get one more year to try and get it right and prove he is the guy

Hey Paul...are the Pirates satisfied with Murphy backing up Stallings or might they be interested in Wilson Ramos?
Zeise
12:49
I think they will probably look to ride with Murphy as their backup. I don’t see them making many moves
12:51
In the offseason

Will the Steelers make a trade ?  If so what position.  If not do ou think they should?
Zeise
12:51
I don’t think so I think they will ride it out. They haven’t made any indication that they are gonna make a trade

12:52
Paul, does anyone know what’s going on with me? Did I have a few too many which resulted in some bizarre social media posts? Please let me know your thoughts ASAP.
Zeise
12:53
It is amazing how much social media has changed the world. Who knows what Cam was saying and frankly, why do we care so much?
TPhunter
12:53
Paul, go ahead and give Narduzzi one more year, but he is now Dead Man Coaching. The Panthers aren't going any farther with him now than they did in his second season. He coaches not to lose instead of coaching to win, and he loses anyway. He has lost the fan base, and his mediocre recruiting will suffer more. The AD has a year to identify his successor, and I suggest she get busy.
Zeise
12:54
I can’t completely disagree. But with all that has gone on in the year of a pandemic and screwed up offseason and preseason - I don’t know I would say let’s wait until next year to see how he rebounds from this

What was Pitt thinking w those awful uniforms against Notre Dame?  Someone should be fired!  Pitt fans fought for years to get back to their original and traditional colors as well as the Pitt script.  It was a national embarrassment and even the announcers were criticizing them.  Simply embarrassing.
Zeise
12:55
I recognize fully that I am not the demographic that these new age uniforms are meant for. I know I’m an old fogey. That being said I hate all these uniforms and wish teams would just wear their normal uniforms and stop trying to look like video games

We have had two OPI calls against us that were horrible.  I get they are calling it more but the one against claypool was non existent and the other against samuels?  what was he supposed to do?  the defender engaged him.  They havent cost us...yet.  Thanks for the chats Paul!
Zeise
12:56
I bet if you went through you would find calls that went the Steelers way too. I don’t worry about officiating and think we talk about it too much. It evens out in the end
TW

Paul, I hereby declare you as the President of the TW fan club in perpetuity. But I fear you are discounting Jack’ s longevity.  And I don’t want to get into my history with the Perkins waitress and porn stars and how that set me back for a decade. Take care.
Zeise

Right, because Tigers personal life is relevant to this discussion. 🤦🏾‍♂️

You probably don't want a political question but doesn't it seem like Biden is using Bill Cower's old plan, get a lead and then take the air out of the ball? Personally I hope it fails...
Zeise
12:58
Hey Bill Cowher was like 1734-0 once he got a ten point lead or whatever that statistic was so maybe that strategy ain’t so bad!
Darnell
12:58
Hey Paul...any news on Sibande’ eligibility appeal?  Thanks.
Zeise

Nope nothing yet

With Minkah Fitzpatrick coming back to earth some and maybe not requiring a massive payday down the road.  Would it make sense for us to pull out all stops to keep Bud and TJ together?  It looks like Ben may be able to play for another 2 or 3 years if he decides to, so we could maybe push some of his salary into a future deal.  I say find a way to make the numbers work. I know we drafted the other guy, but this is a key position on our defense.
Zeise
1:00
I think Minkah will still cost a lot of money. And if they are gonna break the bank to keep Dupree and extend Roethlisberger I don’t see how they sign anyone else of sognificance
alan

Odds the Pirates will have back to back #1 pick?
Zeise
1:01
I think they will be putrid again next year and not have enough depth to go 162 games with competence so I would say the odds of them getting the no. 1 overall pick twice in a row are very high

Paul, what do you suppose will be my niche in the Pens organization? Perhaps I can hide Jimmy’ s cell phone when he’s thinking about a $25M commitment to an unwanted defenseman?
Zeise
1:02
If you are able to pull that off. That will be more than enough!

What do the Steelers need to do or need to improve to win it all this season? I really think we have a good chance to do so if we can get by KC and Baltimore.
Zeise
1:02
Cut down on giving up big plays on defense is one. Run with more consistency is the other. They do those two things they will win it all
John Bach

I believe Pat Chambers still had time on his contract , correct me if I'm wrong. If so, will he be paid even though he "resigned?"
Zeise
1:06
No probably not. They were going to fire him for cause which means he doesn’t get paid anyway. Him resigning saves a little face and maybe gives him a chance to get hired somewhere else more quickly
Bud

Paul, was it just an anomaly that I disappeared last game? I’m about to make huge bucks on the open market and I don’t need any more games like that to maximize my financial situation. Your thoughts?
Zeise
1:07
You aren’t going to have 16 great games in a row. Every so often the action will flow away from you. Just keep doing your thing and you will be fine

I was disappointed that the Lopez vs. Lomachenko fight didn’t live up to its’ hype.  Do you think Loma used his shoulder injury as an excuse or did he underestimate Teo’ s power and quickness?    Teo has said there will not be a rematch because it wasn’t in the contract and Loma disrespected him after the fight.  Will money dictate a rematch or is the bad blood too much to have another fight?  Thanks.
Zeise
1:08
There is always a rematch. Always. Someone will put enough money on the table to make it worth Lopez’s while. And man his power his impressive considering his size

Stability, graduation rates and no NCAA infractions are not the way to generate fan excitement, enthusiasm, appreciation and attendance! Pitt's leadership needs to learn that, in most instances, those three get you nothing but mediocrity! In other words, they can do better than Narduzzi!
