Again, he has played well and played well enough to continue as the starter
Jeff
12:55
Do you agree it might be a long 3-4 years for fans with our 3 professional teams?  possible longer?
Zeise
12:55
Absolutely. We are in for a rough stretch here

Your playing against one of the worst run Ds in the league, your RB is outstanding and the weather is turning ugly. So what do you do? Well if you are Matt Canada, the harder it rains the more you throw.
Zeise
12:55
Exactly. Rudolph throwing 50 times was silly

Sunday, Teflon... Yes... Steeler Head Coach, Mike Teflon.
Zeise
12:55
Got it

Do you think we didn't run at all with the first and 10 at the five because of no confidence in the putrid line? The next hole they open will be their first.
Zeise
12:56
Why not bring in Gentry, Watt and Banner and go jumbo and try to jam it home

Do you sense at the PC's Tomlin's patience with Canada is at all fraying or wearing thin?
Zeise
12:56
No I don’t think so. I think he knows his team is limited and he can’t do much about it

I fear your take on the Pats is spot on.  Mac Jones is a winner and very smart QB.  He also shows you don't need to be drafting in the top 5-10 to land a quality starting QB.  Does Pickett have what it takes to be a quality NFL starter?  There is a good chance he'll be available when Steelers pick toward the middle to hopefully end of round 1.
Zeise
12:57
I’ve seen no reason to believe that Pickett won’t be a good quality NFL starter

Hi Paul - it’s still early but it’s beginning to look like the Patriots have their new franchise QB only 1 year after Brady’s departure.  The Steelers should be so fortunate.  I’m dreading a replay of the post Bradshaw decade of QB mediocrity (at best) - Thoughts?
Zeise
12:58
You never know - they could build a great defense and win like they did when Ben was young

Paul, about your Christmas "thing", I don't have it as bad as you seem to, but I still understand where you are coming from.  I hate Christmas time.
Zeise

Yeah it can be a very difficult time of year for people who suffer from depression

Hi Paul- IMO Pitt does not have a home field advantage for many games. I truly feel that it can be a disadvantage at times when the lower bowl is not filled. Is there any prospect of a 40K stadium ever being built near campus? If they have a  loud,  college home environment I see them winning another game or two each year. Your thoughts?
Zeise
1:02
I disagree. This year has been engaged and loud and clearly into the games. Yeah you would like it to be bigger but the atmosphere at those games has been great

Are you feeling a New Year's Day bowl bid for Panther football?
Zeise
1:03
Yes because I think they are going to win the ACC
Kevin

Hi Paul,  a followup on Tuitt, do you know if  he come into the facility, does any rehab/conditioning work, go to meetings, etc ?
Zeise
1:04
From what I can gather from the people who are there every day - no he has not
The Real TP Hunter
1:05
Who is your most pleasant surprise in the NFL to this point and your most disappointing team? I'd probably go Cowboys up and Dolphins down.
Zeise
1:06
Those are two good choices though the Rams are fairly disappointing as well given their expectations

Here we are, over halfway through the chat and the one Pittsburgh team likely playing for any type of championship hasn't gotten a mention.  This town doesn't understand, you can follow college sports if you didn't go to college.  And I am sure most didn't judging by the questions.
Zeise
1:07
We have had some questions about Pitt and Kenny Pickett

What do you make of your favorite ACC team, FSU? After a disastrous start they are in the mix for a bowl bid, yes? Who thought they might be the better team when they play Florida in couple weeks?
Zeise
1:12
They are a long way from where they need to be and a long way from where they are a great program again. That being said I think Mike Norvell has done a nice job of cleaning up a mess and establishing a foundation. He had to get rid of some knuckleheads and really establish a right way and wrong way to play. It will take a few years of recruiting to get back to the top but, knock on wood, I think they are on the right track
Mark

As the Lions were gashing the middle of the Steelers defense with runs, was I the only one wishing they still had Vinnie Williams?
Zeise
1:14
Probably. He was in the decline his last two years but he would probably be better than what we have watched
V. Fontaine

Well since you asked, passing game at
at Indiana when they set a school record for points. Top 12 in the nation on offense as OC at NIU in 2011. OC at Wisconsin in 2012 when the Badgers went to the Rose Bowl and we're 13th in the nation in rushing. Coached Jacoby Brissett into an NFL draft pick at NC State. Handled a very difficult situation at Maryland as interim coach.

Got fired at three of his last four stops

I said that Rudolph is not the equivalent of ODonnell
Zeise
1:15
Oh, my bad. I don’t know I think he has a ceiling that could get to O’Donnel level
Al Neri
1:15
Pitt will ride into the rescue.  I mean football wise.  Not basketball.
Zeise
1:15
They will win Saturday and save the day

Paul seriously, what percentage of fans in this city are "Stillers" fans, but have no idea about sports or care about any other sport?  They are just Stillers fans.  I prefer not to discuss with people like this because they lack perspective.
Zeise
1:16
I think most Steelers fans are also fans of the other teams in town, they just aren’t as passionate
Pete

Hi Paul Will the Steelers make another Dan Marino mistake or will they draft Pickett if he’s there when they pick?
